Tauren and Dwarf hunters start with guns.
Blood/Night Elves, Trolls, and Orcs start with bows. I don’t recall what Dranei start with.

I hoard everything. I always think that I might need something or that someday I might make another toon who will need that something so I keep it.
I have two bank toons who are pretty much full. I’ve bought every available bag slot for them and they all have 20 slot bags in them. It’s about time for another spring cleaning to clear up space.
Draenei use crossbow. Of course, that didn’t stop me from hoofing it (literally) across the Crash Site, Azuremyst Isle, Stormwind, Deeprun, and finally Ironforge to learn Guns and buy a gun and ammo before hearthing back to the Crash Site to start leveling.
I used to hoard food. Now I realized I just don’t care. The bonuses from cooked food are nice, true, but these days I tend to just carry a stack of vendor food for myself and a stack for my pet on my hunter. It’s too much hassle to bother with and takes up so much bag space.
Crossbows.
heh. I did the same when BC came out. The female Dranei gun shooting amination makes it look like she’s using a “pump” action shotgun. Looks funny on a blunderbuss.
You’re having, and doing something new, which should count for something. As far as fantasy goes, I spend my day working on pretend computers, with pretend networks and pretend storage; WoW is more real than my work
My first toon, I pushed my way to 70 pretty quickly; and I missed out on much of the game. My second time through I saw a great deal more than I did the first time, and gained a greater apprecation for it. Your posts give me another perspective, and allow me to remember some the utterly cool things in the game.
I’ll post here as often as I can (the last week has been exceptionally light for me at work, so it probably won’t be this often for long).
Never. Warlocks need more love.
I am carrying a variety of food right now, but I am trying to get down to one kind of food and send the rest to my other characters. I already only have two different drinks, and will be only buying the higher-level kind once I run out of the lower-level one. I tend to carry around a lot of herbs, so I need my bag space for that.
I sold some potions at the auction house and got mail from one of my buyers, requesting more. I was surprised because they aren’t one of my popular potions. I made him a stack of five more since that was all I had materials for at the time. He paid me more per potion than he’d bought the AH ones for. I wonder what he’s planning to do with them all.
My boyfriend is after me to get my main up to 80 as soon as possible. Apparently there is fancy high-level stuff he wants me to go do. I’m just shy of level 43 as of last night, and have been leveling rather quickly of late, as I am no longer doing the low-level quests I used to spend a lot of time on.
What method do you use to sell the things you make with your professions? I generally just sell them at the auction house since I’m an herbalist/alchemist, though I give away a few as presents now and then, or trade them for other things.
So, it appears my concerns over the Children’s Week achievements were unfounded. I got the meta achievement easily enough (WSG took 2 runs for “School of Hard Knocks” - the first run, the Alliance never even touched our flag; AB and EOTS took 1 run each; AV took 5 attempts).
Also got my 74th and 75th pets after turning in the orphan quests, so got the bonus Little Fawn pet.
I always take the time to read what a questgiver has to say, both when receiving the quest and when handing it in for the reward. I can’t count how many times, while I’m sitting there reading the text, another toon will run up to the questgiver, stand there for maybe one second, and then take off again. I find myself wondering, “Have they simply done the quest several times before with other toons and already know what it says, or do they just not give a shit?” Granted, you can get everything you need to know from what makes it into the quest log, but I feel more immersed in the world when I take time to read everything.
I have to tell y’all, that if it had not been for this thread, I would still be in those mines trying to kill those little bastards…
It’s a wonderful way for me retain my cognitative skillls, and even though at times, it’s a slow go, I am so thankful to have the friends on this thread to help me out!

Good grief - sent my belf priest looking for eggs and had opened well over 100 before I found anything other than chocolate or egg shells. What was it? A Blossoming Branch, which I already had from handing in that egg shell quest after the first 20 eggs. Then 40 or so eggs later I found … another Blossoming Branch. Eventually I found the White Tuxedo Shirt, the Black Tuxedo Pants a bit after that, and finally the Elegant Dress. And then I found another Blossoming Branch
Grats! Are you the first among us to reach #75? After I get the orphan pets, I’ll be just 2 or 3 shy of the fawn, and hard-pressed to find those.
Continuing from my previous post (it was late and I needed to go to bed)… my human paladin has officially found every Noble Garden item now. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to go for the title today
Still, last night I managed to put bunny ears on all the Alliance females except for a night elf. Surprisingly, a female dwarf was the second one I got. And found love for my Spring Rabbit pet in Goldshire and Kharanos
I assume I go to the SW orphanage to get started on Children’s Week?
One more thing: Does one of the holidays make a tuxedo jacket available? Some time back I’m positive I saw a dude (player, not NPC) in SW standing around in a full tux, complete with black jacket.
There’s also one in Lower City in Shattrath (assuming you have The Burning Crusade…and you’re able to get there). It’s a separate set of quests, and rewards (though similar to the Orgrimmar / Stormwind version: take an orphan to see various sites, then do a couple favors for the kid).
That’s probably the item that can be made form Tailoring. They (tailors, that is) can make a Tuxedo Jacket, Tuxedo Pants, and a Tuxedo Shirt. The Noblegarden items are the Black Tuxedo Pants and the White Tuxedo Shirt (but no jacket).
There’s also the Haliscan set, which makes you look like someone from a mariachi band: haliscan - Wowhead Search
I know, Baby-Girl, and I do have those sites bookmarked, but they don’t contain the wise words of my favorite Dopers, Honey!
See?
I know I’m dain-bramaged, but here y’all know me and there they don’t!
I’d just rather ask my questions here…
Unless y’all want me to leave?
Yes. There’s also an Outland orphan chain, starting in Shattrath’s Lower City.
Of course not.
