World of Warcraft General Discussion

Huh. I’m gonna have to look up where to get that recipe. My main is a tailor (360 skill) and I’ve never seen it offered.

Yah, I have that and like it. Gotta have the Dress Shoes to go with it (and actually, with several other outfits).

If you’re Alliance, it’s sold by Outfitter Eric in Ironforge. But all the tuxedo patterns are “rare” patterns, wherein he only sells one at a time (he also sells the Lavender and Pink Mageweave Shirt patterns, also rares). So unless you catch him before someone else does, you won’t see 'em…except at the AH.

Got lucky the other day and stumbled across Vigdis the War Maiden in Howling Fjord, so I killed her and got the Nothern Exposure achievement. Woot!

Thank you. I do really love my Doper Kids, and I wish I didn’t have this crazy-ass shit going on with me, but dealing with this alone is a nightmare sometimes, and I’d like to spare y’al;l from that, but at the same time, I *need * y’all too!

If you were to look at me, you’d think " THIS guy’s only 59???"
That is what I have to deal with daily: I don’t look like I’m bat-shit.

Okay, thanks wonder lust and everyone. I just wasn’t sure, and I have to warn y’all: this may come up again, and I apologize beforehand if it does.

Goona go kill some Defiases and check out the sweet lady in that inn near the saw mill.

If you get a chance, take a look at my latest blog entry, please? Aren’t those two just so cute you wanna pinch their heads off?

Well that was kinda fun. My human paladin didn’t manage to find the Spring Flowers until Friday. She managed to “bunny” a female human, dwarf (found one easily!), gnome, and draenei on Friday before hearthing to Shattrath and logging out. So Saturday evening after work (didn’t get off until 8:15PM) I started in earnest trying to get the rest. Spotted a night elf in Shatt and bunnied her, which took care of the Alliance side. Then I just loitered around the Horde portals for a while, and managed to bunny a blood elf, a troll (spotted a surprising number of them), and an undead. When no more were forthcoming I took a portal to Darnassus, and flew from there to Ratchet. While poking around Ratchet I spotted a tauren DK riding past me (on a raptor of all things), clicked quickly and saw it was a female. She was on her way out of town, though, so I summoned my charger as quickly as I could. The DK was out of sight by the time the summoning was over so I turned on my Crusader Aura for the speed boost and took off in the direction she was heading. Caught up with her eventually, bunnied her from behind and then took off again before she could turn around. I probably left her going, “WTF?” :stuck_out_tongue:

That left only “orc” on my list, so from Ratchet I snuck into Durotar and made my way to the area outside the front gate. I hung around there for a ridiculously long time, and the only female orc I spotted was a lvl 6. There was a lvl 42 nelf hanging around there as well, probably for the same reason. Eventually a lvl 80 belf paladin came out and challenged me to a duel (which I declined), and then she challenged the nelf (also declined). So the belf hung around and hung around, I suppose waiting to see if the nelf and I were intending to attack Org (yeah right, the Alliance is storming Orgrimmar with only a lvl 72 paladin and a lvl 42 hunter). Then … the nelf wandered a bit too close to a guard and got killed. So I, being a paladin, walked over to resurrect her, completely forgetting that doing so would flag me PvP :smack: That’s all the belf needed. She was all over me in an instant, along with a second high-level Horde player who appeared out of nowhere. I didn’t even bother fighting back. Heck, I was wearing my Elegant Dress and was armed only with my Spring Flowers :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I resignedly decided that I wasn’t going to see an 18+ female orc (it was after 11:00PM by this time), so I rezzed in the graveyard next to Razor Hill and just finished riding around Durotar to at least get the “Explore Durotar” achievement (all I need now is “Explore Bloodmyst Isle” and I’ll have explored all of Kalimdor). With a little time left I went back to Ratchet and took the boat to Booty Bay. No female orcs there. Flew up to the Rebel Encampment and then rode down to Grom’Gol, but I didn’t find anybody at all there. So I hearthed back to Shatt, waited around the portals some more, and then logged out.

So I guess I’ll wait until next year to bunny an orc and lay an egg in Un’Goro, and then I’ll have the title (unless the reqs change next year). I have all the other Noble Garden achievements.

Noble Garden is the first holiday for which I’ve been high-level enough to get most of the achievements. I started playing WoW during this last Winter Veil, so before now most of the holiday achievements were out of reach. (For Winter Veil I was mainly so new that I simply didn’t know where to find anything, even for the easier achievements. I think I got the “open a present” achievement and also got the one for receiving the rocket racer thing, but that’s about it.) I was high-level enough to get maybe half of the Love Is In The Air achievements. Lunar Festival, forget it. Most of those, beyond getting the clothing items, seemed geared toward lvl 80s.

I was able to get my tuxedos, my bunnies for different toons, and a dress occasionally. I mainly wanted the pets and the bunny polymorph, so I decided to “declare victory”. Anything else was just extra. Also, this weekend, my warlock “dinged” 80. Now I’m playing around with that demonic summoning circle spell. It looks like it could be good against those “oh crap” situations. And I’m working on getting my 79 rogue that last level.

I got all the Noblegarden achievements fairly easily on my main (80 mage) and my current primary alt (74 priest). The priest was actually easier, because by the time I got to doing it on him, most of the egg-camping was over with. Despite the fact that I found almost no items in eggs on him (only the branch, the tuxedo shirt, and the Spring Flowers) I was able to get him the achievement in only a few hours. Falconwing Square was insane–there were just enough people there that the eggs were respawning fast, but few enough that nothing was camped. I got 80 eggs in about 20 minutes to finish up my “Chocoholic” achievement.

As far as Children’s Week–I’m not even going to try it on the priest. I got it on the mage on Friday evening, and that’s quite enough idiotic PvP for me for the foreseeable future, thanks. Normally I don’t mind battlegrounds (with the exception of EotS and WSG) but the sheer number of twits hanging around during this event was enough to turn me off them forever. Listen, you idiots–we’re trying to get the achievement. Deal with it. If you don’t like us invading your precious battlegrounds, take it up with Blizzard. But we’re here and we’re determined to do what we’re here to do, so you might as well just back off, let us do it, and we’ll get out of your hair and let you get back to winning. Honest. That’s all we want. But if you try to thwart us and farm honor kills–well, we’re going to mess up your battleground.

Yeah, I’m glad it’s over. Two more holidays and I’ll have my protodrake.

I saw those recipe’s for sale by a female goblin in Steamwheedle port (Tanris coast).

Well doggonit, I need to find a new guild. I swear there’s never more than five of my current guild online at any one time and … tonight there was nobody on to say “Gratz!” when I finally got “Going Down?” (Jumped from that rise where that spider boss is on Bloodmyst Isle) or when, a few minutes later, I earned “Explore Kalimdor”. Harrumph.

BTW - where do I buy these candies I’m supposed to eat in front of my adorable little draenei girl orphan?

4 of them can be bought from the food vendor in Dalaran that’s outside the Horde-side bank. The Tasty Cupcake and the Delicious Chocolate Cake are cooking recipes, so you either need to a) know how to make them, b) know someone who can make them, c) pay someone to make them, or d) buy them from the AH. The ice cream (which you’ll want for one of the orphans anyway) can be purchased from a vendor in Ironforge or Nagrand, among other places (it’s also available from the snack machine on zeppelins, if you can make it onto one).

Quasi when people mention to use wowhead or wowwiki as reference it doesn’t mean for you to stop posting here. They are useful sites for specific quest help or item information, quicker to answer those questions with a search of the databases at those sites rather than here. But I am sure you’ll still get an answer here too if you wait

Tried to double team Scarlett Monastery last night with our two Paladins (both level 41). We got the Scarlett Key with only one wipe but hit a bit of a wall in the Cathedral, 3 wipes in quick succession. Having another go Wednesday night but we might need some help. Best instance yet in my opinion.

You can’t take a breath without at least a half dozen of my guild congratulating you at any given time, and that’s a low number of them to be on at once. I’ve found them very pleasant and helpful, as well as prone to silly jokes that I am glad none of them can hear me snorting about.

Grats, anyway!

BTW, on my server at least, the Delicious Chocolate Cake was going for 35+ gold in the AH. Best to get a guildie or friend to make some for you if you can. Or buy some after Children’s Week is over and the price crashes to nothing and then resell it again in a year.

If this were anything but WoW, I’d be wary about eating anything after a year

I once saw a mod called “autogratz” which typed “gratz” into chat everytime someone typed “ding!”

A few on my friends and I have a tauren deathknight guild called <Last Weeks Steak>.

One of our guild ranks is “Beeftain” and they guy who has it at the moment has a macro that says “The Beeftain Congratulates you on achieving your Achievement” that he mashed everytime the achievement text appears.

Hee hee…Beeftain.

At this point, I’m vaguely weary of gratzing any level-up announcements other than momentous ones (10 for pets/talents, 30/60 for mounts, and any factor of 10). Maybe it’s because I’ve done it so often (3 level 80s, a level 72, level 65, and a bunch from levels 10-35) that I’ve proved any idiot (me) can ding. :stuck_out_tongue: As a result I haven’t announced any of my level-ups in guild chat for (literally) years. That preference goes back to my days in EQ and DAoC as well. Heck, with EQ I would play with the sound off and literally not notice when I leveled up because I couldn’t hear the ding.

I have a guild that’s alt-friendly so you get the hyper teenager (or one at heart/mind) who makes a ton of alts and all-caps “DING!!!1” to the guild when their mage hits level 3.

The Achievement system came along. Yay for Achievements, whee! I run around madly collecting as many as I can. Unfortunately it spams the surrounding area and your guild too.

And one day, it really sells me out. It auto-announces my hitting level 80. :smack: Traitor.
I do have guildies who’ve macro’d their responses. One had something that was a not-so-grats - something to the effect of “About time, what took you so long? Back to the grind.”

Got to say, none of the discussion of the various holiday events makes me think that I really want to spend time doing them, once I get bored with gearing up my level 80 & (eventually) running raids, etc.

Woohoo, there’s a WoW thread! Excellent good times. (Anybody on the US servers Borean Tundra or Eldre’Thalas?)

Tom Scud, holidays were more fun when people did them just because they wanted to, and not because they were grinding for a 310%-speed flyer. Now everybody and their mom is trying to get Long Strange Trip, and it’s turned into one big CF. Doesn’t help that Blizzard has clearly *not *put a lot of thought into how some of the achievements will play out on the live realms.

(Case in point for Children’s Week obviously being Hard Knocks–seriously, who thought it was a bright idea to reward people for being selfish jerks? I don’t PVP much on my main since she’s a Prot Warrior, but I wouldn’t have complained about the achievement if it were to **win **an AB, AV, WSG, and EotS. Even after I lucked out with some good groups and got mine done, I still think the achievement is stupid and ought to be nerfed out of the meta.)
