World of Warcraft General Discussion

I would guess that you get teleported back to where you were before you teleported into the dungeon, but I haven’t tested it. It seems like they wanted to avoid people taking shortcuts like the one you want to try. But I say try it!

Grats on all the drops and achievements!

Me, I got a new belt. It’s in the style of Warrior T10, so it makes me look fat. Or like a championship wrestler. Or like a fat championship wrestler. On the plus side, I was able to cut my own gems for it! No more spamming gchat with, “Is anyone online who can cut the epic +Stam gems?”

And don’t forget–if there’s something you didn’t get and you’d like to, just ask! There are probably other newer players or lurkers who’re wondering the same things.

Woohoo! Only three more levels, and then you can head to… :drumroll: Northrend!

Caveat: Unless they’ve changed the timing on this, the chicken will turn back from friendly to neutral in the time it takes you to get the feed and come back (so you’d have to spam the emote at it again to get it back to friendly). You’d be better off picking up the feed, then going to do the quest, since you’ll be able to accept it and turn it in right away.

It can sometimes take a looooooot of doing the emote to have the chicken turn friendly, so make yourself a macro of about ten rows of **/chicken **and then just spam that.

Well that’s a stupid design. I’ve also been trying to figure out why short-duration buffs (e.g. procs) aren’t currently showing up on my buffs.

Huh. No clue whatsoever. I’m *guessing *that it would leave you at the Spirit Healer, as usual, since you’re taking the additional durability hit plus rez sickness. However, there’s no way to know without trying it. I volunteer you to be the guinea pig.

You end up at the spirit healer location.

I found this out during a very bad run - I just wanted to hearth out without having to run back in to get my corpse…

Horde or Alliance on this toon? Nijel’s Point is probably at least as far from Mauradon as it is from Stonetalon Peak. Shadowprey Village would definitely be closer to Mauradon than pretty much anywhere you could legitimately enter the zone.

(Duh. Never mind. You actually mention freakin’ Undercity in the post I quoted… :smack: )

Awesome. I figured someone would know, and since I’ve leveled my baby pally pretty much exclusively through the DF since level 30 or so, there are a bunch of places where I can make use of this learning (seems like a good way to avoid the big long run to the Badlands flight point, for instance).

I’m pretty sure you’ll get transported back to where you were before you were transported to the dungeon, but it’s been ages since I tried it so I could be wrong - try it and report back!

Forget to hit “Submit Reply” for half an hour, didja?

Hey, at least it shows I’m actually doing some work!

Wouldn’t it be nice if people at our jobs would just catch on and leave us alone?

I’ve been spending some extra time doing the daily where you bomb the perfume wagon and take out 5 sprayers. Seems that I get a lovely charm every other guy I kill. With the quick respawn rate there, I can get the 40 LCs needed for the bracelets for the Hometown Bosses in about 10-15 minutes.

I could put in a little more OT on these guys for you healers if you need them.

P.S.- I like my little green booger pet!

I really hope the pet drops enough times that my friends and I can all get it–haven’t seen it yet, and we lost two days of summons because the lag on Stormrage made it unplayable.

Hey, all. I just picked up WoW again this weekend after a long hiatus (I quit pre-XPs). I FIIIIINALLY got my non-gamer wife to pick it up with me and I think I’ve officially turned her into a geek. Very proud. I apprecaite your applause.

I’m scrambling to reaquaint myself and figure out everything that’s changed in the last… 2 years?.. And I have a question about the Lovely Charm Bracelets. I think I majorly missed something here.

I thought it was more or less a throwaway little holiday quest to get some cutesy items like fireworks and whatnot, but now I see that people are farming the charms like crazy, and I saw someone in trade channel selling the things for multiple gold pieces. My n00b toon could definitely use that sort of flow.

Should I be farming these things and selling them? What are people buying them for? Can you turn in the quest over and over again for easy XP?

Odamon on Maiev, by the way, if anyone feels like a /hug. (Alliance only, sorry Hordelings)

The buff you get with the colognes/perfumes from the festival vendor - am I right that those stack with food and flask buffs? I may stock up on a bunch of those.

Ever since the Achievement system was released, people have been working holiday quests like it’s their job because if you do the required holiday quests through a year (for instance, Lunar Festival through Love Is In The Air), you get a violet protodrake superswift flying mount through the meta-achievement What A Long Strange Trip It’s Been. So holiday quests aren’t just throwaways anymore, if you want the drake.

I see that the Lovely Charm Bracelets are being auctioned at 10.5 gold each on Cairne.

First of all, welcome back!

This is a new kind of quest that was introduced during the Burning Crusade, they are called “daily quests” and you can do them (surprise) once a day, up a total of 25 different daily quests per day.

Hmm. So, I guess each sale is just a lvl 80 somewhere buying their bracelet instead of farming one? Sort of makes sense, I guess, though it is pretty much zero effort to get your own Charms so long as you’ll be killing… well, anything… on that particular toon.

Until Tuesday’s patch, healers rarely got any charms since you had to get the kill shot on a MOB to get one. Sounds like they’ve fixed that problem, though.

Missed this on preview and missed my edit window. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

They still have a drop rate (much) less than 100%, so it can be frustrating trying to get enough yourself, since the mobs have to be at a level that will give you xp for killing them.
