Somewhere in a Blizzard developer’s meeting, someone once said “Let’s set up this guy’s toon so that his random daily is Halls of Lightining every time, and see how long it takes him to crack!”
I finally gave up doing ICC dungeons randomly and just queue for PoS now after I do my random HoL run, even though I’m giving up two extra badges.
Quasi, I couldn’t find a quest called “Cleansing the Bones” on wowhead but I did find the quest called Cleansing the Waters. That the same one? If so, those thottbot suggestions sound kind of funky to me.
For the Exorcism of Colonel Jules quest, the quest giver should have given you some Ritual Prayer Beads. Target the guy you have to keep alive and spam the beads at him – they will heal him AND do an AOE that does a nice bit of damage to the quest mobs. They’re on a 15 second cooldown though, so you may have to do some additional mopup of mobs that didn’t die all the way, but the beads should help a lot.

I’m down to the last Pity The Fool bits that I need for the holiday achieve. Woot! Now I’ll be able to focus on the Lunar Festival stuffs when it opens up. :3
My hunter also got a pair of boots and a new gun (it’s an actual cannon strapped to a stock, complete with lit wick and all, which is awesome.) off TOTC, so she’s ready to start saving those frosts for 2pcT10. I’m also going to be running WG more to get me some Furious gear with honor. Learning to hunter in pvp should be interesting.
Not in probably at least a year, but I love it. I love it so much.
Warning: All of this will be WAGs. (Or at least educated guesses.)
AFAIK, while BF buffs your pets a lot, it does not buff them to the point where they’re more than 50% of your DPS.
Unless you’re constantly peeling off your pet, AFAIK this is not the case at all. AotH should be > AotB for almost anything.
Power-leveling = Dumping a big chunk of time/money/materials into a profession to level it over a short period of time, versus leveling it more slowly and naturally.
Reaction time: I mash buttons a lot.
You’d normally see a bunch of “ability is not ready yet” spam at the top of my screen.
Be sure you’re always carrying the strongest ones you can use at your level–I think for you, that would be Super Health Potions. For the food, just look for what will restore the most health. Unfortunately, (a) the drop rates are usually crap and (b) the drops are usually a level below what you should actually be using (seriously, WTF Blizz?), so you’re usually just stuck buying 'em.
Did you mean are those safe to rest **without **a log-out? In which case, yes. Nothing patrols by there. (If you don’t mind Silka’s wings getting some exercise, you can even just hover in the air with no worries.) Any time you’re actually logging out, though, before you hit maximum level, you should always try to be inside an inn or a capital city–anywhere that the level on your portrait changes to “Zzz.” That shows you that you’re resting, and resting is what gives you the XP bonus.
Right there with ya. I was Alch/Herb from level 5 on Sleutel, over two years ago. It was a really hard decision to make (since I’m a stubborn bitch, not 'cause I thought Herb was that great as a raiding prof).
I forget exactly what the setting was–it’ll be something like “reverse” or “grow down” or something to change the “anchor.” If I think of it, I’ll take a look when I get home. OH, and don’t forget to turn counts on–apparently SBF by default does *not *display debuff stacks, which caused me some problems on Putricide. (Or possibly I accidentally disabled it myself when I was tweaking.)
The free one, and it’s working just fine. You lose some of the fancier features (like addon setting backups), and instead of having one button to install any addons that need updating, you have to click a button by each one that has an update. (Though personally that’s my preference anyway.) But the main, core functionality–a way to check and update all of your addons from a single interface–is there, and that’s what matters.
I second that. I like Wowhead’s interface better, and I agree that the comments are generally much more useful.
That’s gotta be one of the shittiest things about trying to run a 10-man group: keeping people from wandering off to 25s as soon as they have the opportunity.
Eeee, a question I can contribute to. ![]()
BM hunter pets get up to 45% of your DPS as opposed to… uh, something much lower for MM/SV. That said though, **Rik **definitely wants to stick with Hawk/Dragonhawk over AotB. I frankly don’t think I’ve used Beast more than, well, a few times ever. Although it can be good for making yourself untrackable should you be up against another hunter with Track Humanoids turned on in PVP. Or Pyramid Hogger. >.>
If you’re looking for leet DPS numbers, you’ll want a ferocity pet, not a tenacity pet. Tenacity pets are great for pet tanking and keeping aggro off you, though (especially if you use MD before each pull). If you want to look at what pet builds I have, check out Nergal (ferocity) and Dafydd (tenacity).
Holy crap, is that how that quest is supposed to work? Thanks for telling me, questgiver! Both times I did the quest, I just assumed that once I’d found the beads and turned in the first quest, I was then just supposed to deliver the beads to the second guy (there are a lot of other quests like that, where one NPC has you find an item and then has you deliver it to a second NPC), and the second guy would actually use them. I had no frakkin’ idea that I was supposed to be the one using the beads! So on both my paladin and then my warrior just recently, I just ran around the room smacking the mobs until the ritual was complete.
Geez I was so pissed with the servers being down yesterday. Of the five servers I play on, the first ones to come back online were naturally the two I play on the least, with toons I really don’t care that much about. Then Zangarmarsh, my #3 priority server came back up some time between 3:30 and 4:00, so at least I could log in and play my troll hunter for a while. Between his regular quests and getting the holiday stuff done, that consumed the next 4+ hours. He did manage to obtain a Lovely Black Dress for the achievement (though why they require the dress and not a dinner suit for male characters is beyond me). He tried on the dress, but it really didn’t suit him, so I rolled up a female belf rogue on the same server and he mailed it to her.
I finally logged on to Lightbringer around 8:30, and getting the holiday dailies plus all my Argent Tourney/Icecrown dailies done on my main took most of the rest of the night. Then, I (stupidly, really) logged in my warrior and she did all her holiday dailies, which kept me up later than I should have been up.
You know your WoW habit is getting out of hand when you can’t find time to look at porn because you’ve got to get your dailies finished
Rule 1: Read item tooltips.
Rule 2: No, really, read item tooltips.
Rule 3: The item tooltips? Read them.
Quest text can sometimes be ambiguous, so it’s always a good idea to look at what you’ve actually got in your bags.
Play in windowed mode and multitask?
Oh hot damn, they’ve changed the Lovely Charms so they stack in lots of 40 instead of 10. Cool beans - those things were taking up too much bag space.
I don’t suppose they made them lootable, so healers might actually get a couple?
After the trouble I had with the transparent UI and deleteting cache, WTF, etc., can I now put my Curse add-ons back in, or do y’all have another suggestion?
Thanks
Q
Layout -> Anchor point (it’s a drag bar)
Set it to “Top” instead of “Bottom.”
Yup, you should be good to put all your addons back.
Nope. I was hoping they’d up the loot chance too, but no dice, it seems.
Before I sign on to WoW, I hang around the thread to see what y’all might post that I might find useable.
A LOT of what you write whooshes me something fierce, but I DO pay attention to the stuff directed at me, even though I sometimes forget to acknowledge it, I want to say thanks, okay?
Also, I made it 65… not always ASKING for help in-game (sometimes someone asks to group with ME), but by asking questions here and persevering with Wolkie and Silka.
Yeah, if you look at our stats in the Armory, you can see how many times we’ve died and elected to be rezzed by the Spirit.
What can I say?
Sometimes I just get lost and it’s easier for the Spirit to do it than to find my own corpse.
In conclusion, me, da Wolk’ and our Silkas are gonna make it to 80.
I appreciate all my friends here, who have helped to make my lonely life more meaningful.
Quasi/Wolkie and Silka
And we’ll be helping you to the end. There’s gonna be a board party like you’ve never SEEN when you guys get there!
I just found out that they made the Westfall chicken pet quest do-able for Horde. In Brill, there is a “William Saldean” who sells the special chicken feed (which is also edible by you, for the 25 foods achievement). Just do the /chicken thing at the chickens in Brill (there’s one to the left of the forge, and one across the road at the corner of the big graveyard) until their targeting circle turns green, then right-click to get a quest from them to get the special chicken feed. Return to them with the feed, complete the quest and they leave an egg on the ground. Just pick it up and use it to put the Westfall chicken in your pet collection.
Thanks that’s prefect and the count was turned off for me too so unless we both ticked the same thing while tweaking I assume it’s off by default.
Yes they have.
There was a blue post about it yesterday. You need to be within range of the kill, so I’ve found myself standing closer to the dps than usual. I got a few charms in my random dungeon last night.
Aaaand I finished the Love Fool achievement and got my title, woot!
Nice! The only playing I did on my healer last night was the holiday SFK daily. All-guildie run so it was fun, even if I lost another pet roll. I did get The Heartbreaker, which is a fun novelty, though.
The Burning Dog Legion dungeon run went smoothly. We had myself (pally tank), a holy priest, a shadow priest, a mage and a warlock. We were randomly assigned to Ramparts, again, which we blew through quickly; then we queued for Blood Furnace which we also went through quickly. Are the BC dungeons just easier at-level than the Azeroth ones?
For those of you who use Bartender, is it… buggy? For some reason, some of the buttons on my action bar wouldn’t work. The hotkeys worked, so I could (for example) press my ‘6’ button to cast Judgement, but I couldn’t actually click on that button on the bar – nothing happened. Worse, if I tried to click in my Consecrate button (vs use the hotkey), it would switch my target to the healer.
And as another example, on my priest the other night I zoned in somewhere and found out that one of my Bars had been reset to be identical to another bar (they were bars 3 and 5 I think). When I started to rebuild bar 3 with the buttons I wanted, I noticed that the new spells were being put on both bars - it was like they were just mirrors of each other but they were definitely set up right.
I like being able to resize my bars and having so many visible in a small space, but I’m thinking about just un-installing the addon altogether if it has so many problems.
Can’t say I’ve ever experienced any bugs with it, but the issues on you priest sounds like you’ve got some weird paging setting on your bars, eg you’ve got your bar 3 set up to display bar 5. Open the Bartender menu and look at “State Configuration”-tab for the affected bars, if any of the options isn’t set to “Don’t Page” that is most likely the culprit.
Never had that happen with my Bartender. I’ve been inclined to uninstall then re-install it, if I were you.
Oh, and meant to say, we did SFK last night too, and two people got Disgusting Oozeling’s! Alas not me, but then again, I’m holding out for the red rocket. ![]()
So here’s a question: What happens if you are in a Dungeon Finder dungeon, get killed, and res at the spirit healer? Do you (1) end up at the spirit healer location or (2) get teleported back to your original location? I’m thinking of suiciding at the end of a Mauradon run some time to get the Desolace flight points, but I don’t want to do it if I just end up back in Undercity with 10 minutes of res sickness and a big repair bill.
