No Tom, it’s been great. Wailing Caverns has all those raptors, and SFK – oh my goodness, SFK is a skinning goldmine. My skinning got stuck at 150 for a while because I didn’t notice that I needed to train again; if not for that I’d be up in the 180’s already, at least. Plus I skinned a lot questing in Tirisfal and Silverpine.
Yeah. You might need to go massacre a bunch of animals in Stranglethorn or something to get past the mid-200s, but I guess you can play catchup in Sunken Temple and then there are all those dogs in BRD.
I was thinking the same thing (Stranglethorn). The Nesingwary quests by themselves should get me over the hump.
The only hitch is that now I’m collecting medium leather/hide, but my leatherworking is not high enough to use it; and I’m not levelling LW quickly because I’m not getting much light leather. I’ll have to go buy a few stacks of light leather on the AH to catch up.
OOH OOH OOH I forgot to mention! After camping the vendor for an eternity, I finally have my very own Formal Dangui! It’s quite possibly one of the rarest items in the game; it’s theorized that it’s on a two-month spawn timer at the vendor. And it’s mine, all mine! ![]()
I’ve turned it into a little “about town” outfit for Sleutel for now, accessorizing with a Forever-Lovely Rose, a Bouquet of Ebon Roses, and a Piccolo of the Flaming Fire (which unfortunately appears to not work in Dalaran :().
I wanted to make that “How To” post for Quasi, because I didn’t know if I’d have time at work today. Busy, busy, busy, and on my way to a conference in about 30 minutes.
I’ve always been really mistrusting of UI mods for basic elements, because if they break, you’re pretty well screwed. I’m finally moving to using some, though (e.g., I’ve picked up Grid and SBF). My UI is starting to get kind of cluttered, and I’ve got plans to completely overhaul the damn thing one of these days, so I’ll be using a bar mod, then.
That should put you pretty close to Loremaster, too! Are you focusing on zones you still need to complete?
Heh. I was guessing he meant Blackfathom Deeps (BFD), which would be level-appropriate.
One of the nice things about bar mods like Bartender is that it lets you scale the action bars down without having to shrink the whole UI. So you can slimline the action bars while leaving the minimap large enough to see.
Of course, with my new 22" widescreen LCD, there’s plenty of room anyway…
I’ve got a decently-sized monitor… I just run a lot of mods.
Let’s see, when I’m raiding, I’ve got the following taking up screen space:
[ul][li]Deus Vox Encounters[/li][li]IceHUD[/li][li]ClassTimers[/li][li]Satrina’s Buff Frames[/li][li]MikScrollingBattleText[/li][li]Grid[/li][li]Omen[/li][li]Outfitter[/li][li]oRA2 tank and CD frames (if running with a group that uses them)[/ul][/li]
That’s a decent amount of real estate.
Hey, grats! I hadn’t even heard of that until now, looks nice.
Eee, grats SFG! I’ll have to park an alt there and start camping it too. >.>
Daedelus, that’s a really nice UI. What are you using? Also, grats to you for using SexyCooldown – I have that but never could train myself to actually use it, pretty or no pretty.
I don’t know if anyone else is using Quartz3 but it’s driving me nuts. I’ll set it up to hide the player castbar since I already have one built into ouF_Lyn, and only use it for target debuffs and the swing timer. But next time I log in, it’s gone poof’t. Completely, totally, and utterly poof’t. Then I have to fiddle with enabling/disabling stuff until it comes back.
I really hope I’m not the only one with that problem. I miss the old Quartz.
SFG, OTOH I haven’t had any problems with Bartender hosing itself after updates that I can remember. At all. Even at that, it’s only been ButtonFacade that exploded (button reskinner) and I can live with ugly buttons for a few days.
Wow, nice! I’ve never heard of that. I should take advantage of the Lunar Festival to teleport my idle hunter to Moonglade and camp on the vendor.
:smack: When I typed that out, I said to myself “what’s that place called? Not Blackrock Depths… oh yeah, Blackfathom Deep.” And then I typed Blackrock Depths anyway…:smack:

That’s the list of add-ons
-
I DID IT! I changed all the chat configs like you instructed! Yeee-Haw!

ahem
Thanks!
Q
I use a large amount of add-ons, though I try to focus on ones that use the least amount of memory for their job. Here’s the list:
Visible:
Dominos (action bars)
ButtonFacade (to make the buttons pretty)
ShadowedUF (unit frames)
Skada (damage/threat meter)
SexyMap (minimap)
Grim (death reports)
Grid (raid frames)
ForteXorcist (cooldown timer)
Satrina Buff Frames (de-/buff frames)
Prat (chat frame)
Fontain (changes global font)
Skinner (changes textures/adds viewport/bottom shaded area)
SLDataText (gold/fps/ping/etc. - no longer updated, so I need to find something similar)
Not shown:
ClassTimer (HoT/DoT timer)
Deus Vox Encounters (DBM replacement)
oRA2 (Main Tank/Main Assist Frames - Raid Leader management)
Click2Cast (just for a few spells)
AddonControlPanel (lets you turn on/off add-ons in-game with a simple /rl to implement)
AtlasLoot (boss drops/loot)
MinimapButtonBag (puts all your add-on buttons that are around your minimap onto one simple button)
TidyPlates (nameplate aesthetics)
Mik’s Scrolling Battle Text (obvious)
Power Auras Classic (customizable audiovisual alerts)
Quartz3 (castbar)
TipTac (tooltip add-on)
OmniCC (cooldown counter)
Geist (customizable hidden bars that show up at your cursor when you hit the keybind)
Align (places a grid over your entire screen so you can make sure all your UI elements line up just so - for my OCD side)
As for add-ons breaking, the biggest issues I’ve ever had is when an author discontinues work and someone doesn’t pick up their project. But, honestly, for me that’s part of the fun because then I get to reconfigure a new UI! Rarely do I have major add-ons “break” on me, and I can raid with a bare-bones set up (Grid, some kind of boss mods, and a threat meter), but I prefer not to. I look at that screen quite a bit, and I want to make sure that it’s as aesthetically pleasing to me as possible. If anyone needs help futzing around with their UI, feel free to ask. I have a lot of experience doing so.
Question: I’m finally getting around to doing the Frenzyheart and Oracle quests/dailies. I have discovered that I jumped factions TWICE already (Frenzy -> Oracle -> Frenzy) by aiding the injured Oracle near the Frenzy camp. I’m guessing that there’s still a way to go back to Oracles once I’ve maxed rep with Frenzy and completed all the available dailies. Is that the case or is there a way to keep both parties Exalted at the same time, or did I already blow it with the Oracles?
Need answer (not so) fast!
If you finsh the quests to the end you get a boss. at that boss you choose either Frenzy or Oracle to save and get rep with that group. You can redo this quest and chage factions that way but doing so drops your rep with the other faction to neutral.
Yeticus Rex, don’t worry about your Frenzyheart/Oracle reputation. You can switch back and forth as needed by doing killing Artruis the Heartless and saving the gorloc or the wolvar. This can be repeatedly done on a daily basis (though I don’t know why you would do that). Each time, though, you will reset your reputation with the faction to Honored.
Schweet! My human pally has the Royal Dangui, and my bank alt’s wearing the Dark Green Wedding Hanbok, but I also had never heard of the Formal Dangui. Want!
Heh. I’ve got my human pally running around naked and punching things in the draenei islands, chipping away at Loremaster of Kalimdor. I just did that quest on Silvermyst Isle, escorting the night elf girl, Magwin, back to her father. Until I walked beside her like that, with my human female toon, I had never realized what narrow behinds those nelf girls have ![]()
And I’ve officially added my first player to my “ignore” list. Grouped up with a gnome mage and a couple others to do Threat/Cit, and this gnome starts pissing and moaning about people taking too long to get there (you know, rush rush rush). So another guy in the group told him, “Hey, it’s not all about you, it’s about the group.” To which the gnome replied, “HAHAHAHA!” So then he left the group as soon as we killed Chillmaw (not sure if he even participated), and immediately posted his own lfg. Then, as the rest of us were finishing up Battle Before the Citadel and had returned to the corral area, somebody trained a huge swarm of Commanders and Lieutenants and Scouts onto us, and I spotted this gnome in the chat window saying “LOL!” :dubious: So … “Ignore” henceforth. Dickhead.
…still very much a romantic couple as he visits her whenever he needs to bone up on his *skinning *talents over that way.
As the roof still leaks, they tend to make love inbetween (and to) the raindrops, and Wolkie still bows to greet and as he leaves his lady…
Nassssty dirty-minded little Dopersezz!

Wolkie and Quas’
In a bit of a mining rut at the moment. Up to 134 or so, Copper, Tin & I think Silver no longer increase my skill, just Iron, and i’m not finding so much of that. Need to get up to 150 to go after Mithril.
Skinning on the other hand is no problem.
Looking forward to hitting lvl 40 in 5 or so levels. What speed does the lvl 40 mount do? +100%?
Yes.
I got to attach Wintergrasp for the first time last night and I have to say it’s a lot more fun than defending. Alliance dominates on our server so I doubt I’ll get to to it often.
I am racking up Marks of Honor (or whatever they’re called) I have over 18k now do they have a use for someone who does more PvE than PvP? Anything good I can buy with them?
If you’re level 30 or higher, Desolace. You say you’re about 35, so you’ll have to be careful about the wildlife, but the place is covered in Iron in the middle of the map. When I need Iron and Mithril, I start off in Stonetalon Mountains, ride into the Charred Vale and do a circuit around the sides (tons of Iron and Mithril in there) then ride into Desolace and circle the small cliff in the center of the map once or twice before riding back into Stonetalon.
Also, if you haven’t already, get the Gatherer addon and the GathererDB. The time it takes you to mine is cut in half when you know exactly where the nodes will pop up.
Be careful in your terminology. You have Marks of Honor, which you gain from completing a battleground, and honor points, which you gain whenever you get credit for a kill or complete a BG quest. Marks are typically counted in the tens while honor points are counted in the thousands.
To actually answer your question, honor can be used to buy PVP gear, Jewelcrafting gems (which if you’re solely PVE you’ll get more use out of the the gear), and a few other things. There’s buildings in Stormwind and Orgrimmar with honor vendors, although you’re not likely to see much use for them until 80.
Burning Dog Legion weekly alt Dungeon Run tonight! 8:45 server time.
We’re leaving the swampy dampness of Coilfang Reservoir behind and headed to Auchindoun in the Bone Wastes of Terokkar Forest, to help the Consortium clear out the etherials that have overtaken the Mana Tombs.
If you have a toon 63-68 you can sign up for the run on the guild calendar.
