World of Warcraft General Discussion

Shit, sorry, sorry.

7k DPS or GTFO.

My Prot Pally invested points in that talent just for soloing since it is at the top of the tree.

I rolled a Mage I call “Fro”.

Get it?

Fro? Mage?

No?

OK, bye!

What a cheesy name.

Bwahahahahaha!:D:D:D Good onya, Tommy!

Thanks

Q

:eek:Dude! I absolutely HATE when I forget NOT to use “Bladestorm” only as a last resort!

Q

And not pay attention to my HEALTH!!!

Thanks

Q

Got Professor Putricide to phase 3 last night, which was a first!

Okay, so maybe it isn’t a Lich King kill, but it’s progress! Such a fun fight, too!

I’ll re-visit my DK at some point, y’all, but right now I wanna get Wolkie up to 80. It seems important, somehow.

Thanks

Ok…I am strongly considering making a new toon. Will likely put it on the BDL server - what faction are you guys? Everything I read says Horde, but I have seen some hints of Alliance…

So clear things up for me please…

BDL is Horde on the Cairne server. I think Bip made an Alliance alt guild there, too, but it didn’t last too long. Cuz Alliance stinks

Yup, BDL is Horde, and all my toons on Cairne are Horde, but I have a number of Alliance toons as well, including my “main” on Lightbringer. To be honest, I prefer playing Alliance, at least in the Old World. In general I like the quest chains and zones better, and Alliance doesn’t get stuck in The Barrens for an eternity. Once a toon gets to Outland & Northrend, though, that quests/zones aspects even out.

I don’t think too many of us are hardcore “FOR THE HORDE!” or “FOR LORDAERON!” types, and we like to play whatever suits us at the time. Most of my active characters are Horde on Cairne, but I’ve got some Alliance alts scattered around other servers.

The Alliance alt guild continues to notionally exist, but I don’t know if any of the characters in it have been played in the last six months or so; I know that my Alliance alt, who’s also the guild master, hasn’t.

Ok, well my only toon so far is my Alliance Pally, but I’ll give the horde a try so I can hook up with BDL…

So, tried to get few dailies done this morning before I had to go to work at noon …

Sometimes I just have to shake my head. News Flash: When you see another player doing one of the dailies that requires summoning and killing a particular mob (in today’s case, Mistcaller Yngvar down at Hrothgar’s Landing), stand the fuck back and let them do it, and then take your turn when they’re finished! Good grief. I ran into the cave, went to the appropriate summoning spot, but before I could click the item to summon, another player charged in on his mount and got off his summon. Because I happened to be standing right where Yngvar appears, he aggro’d on me instead of the guy who summoned him, but despite aggroing on me, Yngvar’s nameplate was gray (I assumed because I wasn’t the one who summoned him), so I couldn’t get any credit for killing him. And somehow, despite my backing away and not attacking (I refuse to do other people’s work for them in situations like this*), the other guy couldn’t seem to pull him off me, though he did finally kill him. He must have gotten credit, because he left immediately.

So I stepped back up and summoned Yngvar for myself, and at precisely that instant yet another player flew into the cave on his flying mount, and this time Yngvar aggro’d on him, and this guy killed him. Yngvar’s nameplate was once again gray to me, so I didn’t get credit, and apparently this second player also didn’t get credit because he promptly summoned Yngvar for himself :smack: Once he was gone I finally had the cave to myself and was able to summon and kill Yngvar and get credit for it.
And then …

One of today’s dailies was Get Kraken, and I joined a threat/cit group that was also going to do Get Kraken to get that damned tooth. So I joined the group and immediately flew to Chillmaw’s spawn area, like I always do. Nobody there. I waited. And waited. Finally the group leader said, “Most of us are at the birds, so let’s do Get Kraken first.” Okay, fine, no problem. I flew back, and we did Get Kraken, and got the tooth. Back at the Tournament grounds, I and one other in the group hopped on our flying mounts and headed for Chillmaw. I was halfway there when I noticed the other three weren’t following. That’s when the druid in the group announced that, somehow, she didn’t get the tooth  So the group leader decided the three of them will try again. They ran the whole mission again, and the druid still didn’t get the tooth. And so they re-mounted and tried again. That’s when I said, “Sorry guys, I thought this was going to be quick. I have to go get ready for work,” and dropped group. Holy hell, some people act like getting that damned tooth is some sort of big bonus. I’m sorry, but the only “bonus” is that if you get it, you’ve completed two daily quests in the time it takes to do one. It’s not an “extra daily” like I’ve seen a lot of people calling it; you’re still only allowed 25 daily quests, and it uses up one of those. If you don’t get it on the first try then just do one of the dailies you would have done otherwise!

  • The usual other “situation like this” happens when doing that “Rescue at Sea” daily, where you have to kill the Kvaldir Berserkers and Harpooners that are leaping onto the elf ship: you’ll get a spellcaster or hunter who stands near the back of the ship, out of harm’s way, and fires single spells or arrows at every kvaldir that jumps onto the ship, tagging the mobs for themself while letting the other players do the work of actually killing them. Lazy bastards.

Preach it. Also optimized for shamans; horde had just gotten pallies, alliance had just gotten shamans.

My partner at the time -refused- to believe this was true. I was playing a hunter, she, a pallie. She got -tons- of loot, I got jack squat. She kept saying that the optimization was just a myth.

LIES!

I’m dusting off said hunter again (the gear thing got too frustrating for me to play), although I still much prefer my mage.

… But lord, did I have to grind!

Thanks,

… In Northrend, there are 2 zones I can quest in: Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra, but in a bunch of other searches I did, they say 70, so I guess the only thing to do is try it out, right?

Thanks
