just had anotehr un through the dungeon withthe slimes. Great group this time. we went to the boss that was a large flower type thing. Even picked up a couple of pieces of plate. Good times.
Funny you should mention this. I was working on Zul’Drak quests last night and that leopard goddess was doing a lot of “How powerful you are, Khokhrah! You’ll be a hero to the Spirits of the Drakkari totems if you keep this up!”
I wasn’t sure why that was unusual enough for me to notice it, until you posted that. It’s true…those fervent praise moments start being few and far between in questgiver dialogue after mid-levels.
One place that you kind of see that come back again is with certain factions when you get exalted. Try walking around QD when you’re exalted with SSO–the NPCs positively gush in /say about you. In Northrend, too, I’ve seen NPCs praise me on Krasus Landing and at the Argent Vanguard in IC.
Noooooooooo! You’re one of those!
You’ll have to clue me in where and who QD and SSO are … I’m drawing a blank.
But I have noticed the comments from Linda Ann Kastinglow and her gnome friend on Krasus’ Landing:
Linda Ann Kastinglow says: “That Eilyssana is quite the woman!”
I feel pretty, oh so pretty …
Dude, when you get to Northrend, would you look us up? (Wolkenlaufre).
Hell, when you first started out, I remember offering to help you with some of your entry-level quests, but it looks like you’re (as we say in the South) “shittin’ and a gettin’”
and I think we oughta hang out with you for a while! (Heather’s got a sister, ya know!)
I’m just kiddin’ ya, but congrats on the speed at which you’re levelling!
Quasi and Da Wolk’
QD = Quel’Danas, or something like that (island north of the eastern continent)
SSO = Shattered Sun Offensive (TBC faction)
They were tied into the Sunwell Plateau raid in kind of the same way that the Argent Tournament was tied into TOC. QD was the big quest hub at the end of TBC; in fact, it’s the reason the total number of dailies you could do was increased to 25. I still miss it; with practice, you could do a full sweep of the island’s quests in half an hour and net yourself a very nice chunk of gold and rep.
If you’re on Darkspear, sure! ![]()
He’s related to “Shakespeare”, right?
You go, kiddo!
Just remember to return the damn SALUTE!
No shit, I salute so many upper (and lower) levels when we get on boats at the same time, or stand next to each other, and I always feel like Wolkie forgot to zip up when they don’t return the greeting!
Yeah, I KNOW we’ve talked about this before, but I’m a “role player” through and through, so they oughta at least wave at me.
So it’s suddenly just ALL ABOUT levelling?
Not for me, it ain’t!
Q and Wolkie
The Wanderers said “p*ssed”, SFG! Are you gonna let them get away with asteriskin’???
Next thing ya know, it’ll be lighting candles and aromatherapy 'n shit!
“Sorry to cut this “short”, but I must p*ss now!”
:):):):):):)![]()
OAOW: I’m just having a little fun with ya’ okay?![]()
I think it rawks that you’ve gotten into the game and levelled as quickly as you have!
Great Job!![]()
Q
My daughter got me up early this morning (5:30am!) used to be a bad thing - now I view it as extra WoW time. Dinged 45. 100K exp per level now! How much do you need in the 70’s? So if I understand correctly, that’s another 13 levels or so until it’s through the portal time? Am I right in thinking there is no point in my upgrading my account to WotLK until 68 or so?
At 70 you need 1,523,800XP at 80 1,670,800XP. It takes awhile….
You can use the Dark Portal at level 58 to go to Outland so you have 13 to go yes. I don’t think there is a need to upgrade until you get to level 70 no but I may be wrong, when I first got the game I bought all the expansions.
Grats to all.
Not much play for me this week due to teething (not me obviously) so spent most of the time on my gnome Warlock who is now 56 and only 4 levels to go until Metamorphasis. Very exciting I want to be a bad ass demon evry 3 minutes or so. Finally got round to doing the Infernal quest line, a trip from Felwood to Azshara to Blasted Lands and then back to Felwood reminded me why I hated not having my own flying mount.
My Wanderin’ Friend:
Yup, you’ll be going through the portal to HP, at 58. Enjoy your own private Gryph!
Regarding upgrading?
In my case, I upgraded even when my Wolkie was still in “diapers”, because the game came in a two-pack.
I think Cat isn’t that far away, right, y’all?
I entered LK at 68, so that’s right, Wanderer, but as fast as you’re levelling, I’d watch out for “sale” prices coming up. I too bought all expansions at the same time…
BTW, what do your ankles look like?
Footballs?

As I wrote before, the beginning of the game is the most fun and it sounds to me like you’re enjoying it to its fullest!
Quasi
I do not envy you going through that, my friend. Might wanna wear headphones! ![]()
Quasi
Wanderers, the only thing that Wrath offers that you would be able to use before lvl 68 is the Death Knight class (and you need at least one character on your account to be lvl 55 before you would be able to make one, anyway). There are no new races or crafts available in Wrath.
Thanks Quasi I have headphones but they don’t stop my wife picking up the wee man and putting him in my arms. Usually when I am fighting 3 mobs and down to 25% health…
respecced my hunter to beast mastery as per the advice received. Not played him since though, and at lvl 16 i doubt i would notice much difference.
Ooh…the Teething Baby debuff*! That’s gotta hurt. That’s not one you can get the lock to decurse, either…
*It’s apparently caused by gaining Wife Aggro. If you can manage to stealth your way through Phase 1 of the fight, you might manage to avoid it.
Woo! I got into an amazing ICC10 PUG last night. A great group of people–skilled *and *fun. We ripped right through the early bosses, and even one-shot Rotface. We got one attempt in on Putricide before a couple of people had to go, but we’re planning to come back together on Monday to polish off another few bosses.
What’s also nifty is that only two bosses in, I got a ginvite from the raid leader, and then from the GM of his guild. I’m still not sure I want to stay on this lag-from-hell server, and their progression is less than I’d like in 25s (it seems to mainly be an issue with them getting enough people online, though), but it’s at least good PUG potential.
Also awesome: I finally hit Exalted with the Ashen Verdict (woooo, upgraded ring!) and picked up the Bonebreaker Scepter off Marrowgar–so nice to finally get rid of that Burnished QS off of Ony. The damn thing was way too slow for a Prot War. The new mace was even an upgrade for my other tanking weapon, Titanguard, so I was able to add it to all my tanking sets across the board and free up a bag slot.
Correct: Generally speaking, you want to head to Outland at 58 and Northrend at 68. You can technically go earlier, but you’ll be stucking grinding mobs; there won’t be any quests until you hit the respective levels.
As for upgrading to WotLK, that depends on how obsessive you are about leveling professions. You can get the last level of skill (Grand Master, is it?) at 65, IIRC (lower for gathering professions, I think), and you can hop a boat to Northrend at any level, as long as you have the expansion.
They’ve confirmed they’re releasing it in 2010. My guess is that we’d see it in late summer at the earliest, and probably not before the fall. Blizzard also has a commitment to never release rushed products, so there’s always the slight possibility that something will go horribly wrong and the release date would get pushed back to next year, but I don’t expect that to happen.
Well, to really split a hair, Inscription is a Wrath profession. However, unlike Jewelcrafting (which you can only learn if you have TBC, because of where the trainers are located), anyone can learn it.
That’s pretty much what I meant. The only thing in Wrath that isn’t available to the entire playerbase is the Death Knight class (and the continent of Northrend, obviously).
Yup, I knew *you *knew that. Like I said, *really *splitting a hair. A *very *tiny one.
