you’re doing what now with jayjay’s short hairs? :dubious:
:o
heh nothing works, you know when you’re in trouble when your pally bubble is useless.
I watched for sales on LK for about a month and never saw any at any of the typical online sellers.
Eventually saved a few dollars buying a key off eBay that was guaranteed unused…
Honestly, my suggestion would be to gauge exactly what you want out of your guild. If you want more serious progression, you’re going to have to devote more time to raiding (6 hours a week is rather “casual”), and it does seem that the guild you’re in is not willing to put in the time in and out of game to push content. If that’s what you want, I suggest looking for guilds that have more limited days/hours required. For example, my guild raids 3 days a week for 4 hours a day, but only 2 days are required (though, if you want consistent raid spots, you should show up for all 3 days). We’ve killed LK on 25, have killed 3/12 HMs (lag kept us from a few others), and are 10/12 HMs in 10-man (we’ll kill Sindragosa on Sunday, leaving the insane fight that is LK HM). I joined the guild because they were serious about raiding, but understood RL commitments. So, see what you can find; there are guilds for everyone.
As far as how different guilds handle progression, it’s all about preparation, IMO. If you’re raiding limited hours (like my guild), the preparation is what separates progress from stagnation. We use forums extensively to hammer out strategies, theorycraft, etc. in order to maximize our raid time for killing big monsters, and it works well. However, you obviously also need to spend the time playing. Progression in 10-man is a huge stepping stone for progression in 25. Learning the mechanics on a smaller scale allows for a much clearer understanding of the requirements once you step up to 25. YouTube has plenty of videos of Normal and Heroic kills, and TankSpot has quite a few up-to-date strategies for both as well. Again, efficiency is key. Beating your head against a wall is only going to go so far. Sometimes, you do need to clear your head and come back, or just take a break for 5-10 minutes to re-focus. For instance, on our first LK 25-man kill, we had great attempts early in the night, but then started backsliding. We took a break, had a talk over Vent about what we needed to do better and to commit to re-focus, and we got him down a few attempts later. However, I do not recommend bouncing around your focus from boss to boss. It can be hard to keep all the different abilities that will kill you in your head for multiple bosses at a time as you learn them. It is (again, all my opinion), much easier to sit on one boss and learn the mechanics clearly. Then, it becomes all about execution, as opposed to learning a whole other set of abilities. YMMV.
That’s a very different approach than I am used to, but if it works for your guild, that’s great. Usually, guilds I’ve been in have preferred to kill bosses that it can, particularly for the upgrades they provide and just the general well-being of the morale of a raid (which is a huge factor). Sure, there are fights where you have to brute force it to some degree, but if you can get upgrades to help make those fights easier elsewhere, I don’t see a reason to skip them in order to learn a fight. But, you got Putricide down, which is one of the hardest fights in the instance (second only to LK, IMO), so congratulations are in order.
Cheers, SFG! Glad to hear you’re still raiding successfully. Good PUGs can definitely be hard to find. I had a terrible experience on my alt Disc Priest in an ICC-10 PUG, where quite a few people didn’t know the encounters and responded poorly to suggestions made from the person with the lowest GS (oh, how I hate that stupid add-on). Those upgrades are very nice, especially the i277 ring. Though, my guild is currently recruiting people to replace some that RL hit, so keep us in mind!
Ding on 45. been playing 3 days 20 hours. Thats almost 4 days solid with this char! I bet some of you guys can put that to shame right quick! Plate situation is much better now.
dammit 46 I meant
Question:
You know when Wolkie sits down to eat?
Well sometimes the health regenerates to 100% before those untensils disappear. Does he need to stay seated until they go away?
Observation: We love helping those militia guys! I know they’re NPC’s and run to the next enemy when we’re done, but it makes us feel like we’re part of the team, and it’s better than trying to help a RPC when they may not want you to.
And we be rockin’! We be rockin’!
Thanks!
Q
No, you don’t have to wait until the utensils go away for you to finish eating. As soon as you like, you can get back up and start fighting the good fight. Glad to hear you’re enjoying Northrend! I can’t wait to hear your reaction to the Wrathgate questline (in Dragonblight, the zone after your starting Howling Fjord/Borean Tundra). Good luck!
Just moved on to Searing Gorge. New area for me to wander around tomorrow!
… she of the huge bazongas stickin’ out.![]()
Caught him kneelin’, but no kisses blown, so I guess he’s a “Stand By Woman Man” for his Heather and she’s gonna…
Y’all didn’t blow chunks, didja?![]()
I wish someone would do a video of Heather singing this for her Wolkie. Even if just for a laff!
Thanks and hope I made y’all smile a little!
Quas’
… is offering me a gryphon. WTF? We can’t fly yet, right?
Also, what’s up with this “Engulfed By The Mist” BS?
I went south from NR to plant the explosives and ran into some of those guys and they got me stuck at 23% health, and the only way I could get out of it was to hearth our ass outta there. I mean, I’d STILL be there at 23% if I hadn’t done that, because there was no way to un-spell it.
Thanks
Q
He’s offering to teach you epic flying, which you’re eligible to learn at lvl 70. You probably can’t afford it yet, though. It’s 5000 gold. You can delete it, just remember that when you DO have 5000g, you can go learn the fast flying.
The mist thing is part of a set of quests you get on the south coast of Borean Tundra. The sea giants on the beach hide behind the mist.
Don’t know what I’d do without you, jayjay and ALL my kiddos helping me get to 80!
SFG, you ROCK, baby-girl!
My a without whom I’d probably be on Peachtree Street right now, asking for 10 cents so I could log on Wolkie for a few!
Thanks for helping an old man try to live his dreams!
Chivarly ROCKS, Dude!
It surely does.
Bill
ahem

Just having a good time, so I guess everybody else is, too!

PS: I want y’all to create a section called: “He Asks The Questions You’re Afraid To Ask” within this thread!
Thanks

Hey all.
When last we met, far upthread, I had returned to Wow after a 2+ year absence, having finally convinced my wife to give it a try (just try it, you’ll like it. First 30 days are free. All the cool kids are doing it)
So, we set out, me with my rogue, and she with her druid (both of us of the purple NE persuasion because… “look honey! We can be pretty blue elf thingies! Pretend you’re a Na’vi.”) Flash forward to today, where we have both dinged 45 and are currently questing Tanaris.
All’s well. I get to game whenever I want because now my wife actually asks ME if I want to play. "Well sure, honey, I guess so… " So, everything is as it should be, right?
Yes. Except…
Except she’s sorta kicking my ass.
I’m playing an assasin build and she’s boomkin, just got her moonkin form a few levels ago. I’m tracking our damage with Recount, and we were pretty much 50/50 until a few levels ago. But now, I can’t keep up! My non-gamer wife is averaging about 60-65% of the damage, anywhere from 30-50 DPS higher than me, and boy is she loving it. ![]()
Be my secret weapon, guys. I’d rather not go combat build, but I just tweaked my talents, and spent about 150g buying a sword, teaching myself to open with daggers for Ambush and then switching to a sword in my main, but I didn’t gain much ground.
Are we rogues just not the damage dealers we’re made out to be (at this level maybe?) or have I somehow nerfed myself?
I’m on armory here: World of Warcraft
thx in advance!
