And if you can do all that, you probably don’t need the badges anyway!
Hey, Primordial Saronite (23 badges per) still sells for around 1200-1400g each on my server. ![]()
Ooh! A full fix, or did you just pick up the jerry-rigged half-fix that he came out with to tide people over while he hammered at getting the whole thing back together? (The temporary fix leaves you only able to use the Rivet Bars layout.)
… needs 6 more sigs and then I can ask for the charter.
Interestingly, one of the non-Dopers who signed on, didn’t really want my help levelling. She was doing fine on her own, and I expect her to quit as soon as the charter’s in, which is okay, but I really wanted some level 1’s whom I could help and who could quit when they get a “hold” of the strategy. The philosophy being that there will ALWAYS be lower-level folks who wouldn’t mind a helping hand.
Got a couple of promises. They asked me to save them as a friend and they’d get back to me later…
Already got my tabard planned out, and I’m going recruiting again tonight, in addition to practicing my skinning (SFG:)).
Met a real nice guy (salesperson) at my local Gamestop today, and he GAVE me a copy of the Bradley Lich King manual as well as recommended the Bradley “Dungeon Raid” book, when I mentioned my hesitation at raiding since I don’t seem to understand the strategy and only piss people off. I mentioned also the “mentally challenged” bit, but he thought I oughta at least give it a try.
Nice of him to give me the book, though, huh?
Thanks

Full fix, as far as I can tell. I didn’t have any issues for the hour I just played, anyway – and the changelog on curse actually indicates that this is the 3rd update since the half-fix was posted.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought you also gained 1 Triumph badge per normal ICC-5man boss (2 for Forge of Souls, 3 for Pit of Saron, and ? for Halls of Reflection). I could’ve sworn I’ve seen myself get a triumph badge or two from those normal instances.
And yay, I got back in to the game… I’m trying to hit all the Northrend quests while the rewards are still good for something besides vendoring, and so far I’m up through Drak’Tharon at level 76… going to be tight getting all the Gundrak and HoL quests unlocked before dinging 80.

While in SW a while ago, someone sent me a guild invite which appeared in a red box (“accept”, “decline”) in the middle of the screen. How can I do the same thing w/o having to write the same thing over and over to a prospect in a whisper?
-
How can I pay the 1 g without going to a mailbox and sending it? Apparently my latest sign-on was wondering why I left the Northshire Abbey to go to Goldshire to mail him the gold and thought he’d been scammed…
Oh yeah, now only need 4 more sigs.
Thanks

This kind of box only opens when you invite someone into an already-formed guild.
-
Target the other person. Right-click his portrait beside yours up on the upper lefthand side. Click “Trade”. Click inside the gold box at the bottom of the trade window and type in your amount. Hit the “trade” button. Your side will turn green. When he accepts, the trade window will close.
Thanks jayjay. I wrote it all down about the trade window, so I won’t look so foolish next time.:smack:

Well, shit. I picked up a jerk-kid. Took me for 1 g (said he never got it in the mail), so I traded it to him and told him to keep the other one when he got it. He wrote back that he wouldn’t keep it, “I’ll give it to yo momma!”
Wish I could throw him out, but I tried, and I can’t.
Right?
FUCCCCKKKKKKK!

Once you have enough sigs and you start the guild, you can kick anyone you want.
Yeah, I know, buddy.
But what galls me is that I need to keep my end of the bargain and give him the 4 g’s.
I have to tell y’all that MANY of the people I approached were already way higher levels and were just there to form alts.
Most were very nice and told me that, but this little cretin accepted my help in Jasperlode and then told me his other toon was a 70 and laughed at me.
He then got into a duel with another guy in Goldshire and kept running away from the guy, and from what y’all told me about duellers being jerks, I should have known SOMETHING was up when I saw the little shitass running away.
So anyway, I signed up a very nice lady named Kittybest and that leaves me with just 3 to go!
YAY!
Q
I think you’re right, actually. Not positive, though.
Eyup!
My first attempt at a mage was indeed Frost (Wossname, formerly of BDL, now deleted). I gave up on her at level 23, out of pure frustration at how long it took to kill anything. When I later made my draenei mage I went the Fire route and found it to be a whole world of fun, so when I decided to roll another mage for BDL, I went Fire. Survivability isn’t much of a problem - I developed a whole array of “get out of shit” tricks while leveling the draenei (who just dinged 67 the other night), and so despite the difficulties in Stonetalon Peak, I didn’t suffer a single death. I did have one downright comical “run away!” sequence though, where I came very close to death. I was fighting a Treant Ally, when a passing Daughter of Cenarius dispelled the Polymorph on the Son of Cenarius, and suddenly I had all three of them on me. I popped a Frost Nova and ran like hell, down to a mere 4 HP. Quaffed one of my little health potions as soon as I was out of combat, still running, only to immediately aggro a nearby cat I hadn’t spotted. He got one swipe on me which knocked me back down to 10 HP. I never stopped running this whole time, until the cat finally gave up and I was out of combat again. At that point I found what seemed to be a nice safe spot atop a small rise and sat down to eat and drink, got back up to about 40% health, when suddenly a lvl 25 Corrosive Sap Beast (slime) appeared out of nowhere and tried to crawl up my back. Frost Nova again, run like hell … by the time I was able to stop and fully heal, I had run all the way to the edge of Stonetalon Peak and had to slowly and carefully work my way back to that ruined temple building where the Sons of Cenarius hang out and start the whole process over again.
So on the emblem thing, it sounds like it actually shouldn’t take all that long to get kitted up in Triumph gear, then (once I start running Heroics, that is)? And then add Frost pieces as I have the emblems to do so?
Pretty much. Depending on how hard you’re willing to slog, you can get one Triumph piece per day or every other day:
[ul]
[li]Triumph stuff generally costs between 30-75 badges (with Librams at 25). [/li][li]You gain roughly an average of 4 Triumph badges per dungeon run, plus 2 for running randoms, for a total of 6 per dungeon. [/li][li]Most dungeons take 30 minutes or less (or the pizza’s free), so you’re looking at about 12 emblems per dungeon. [/li][li]In 3 hours of running nonstop dungeons, you’ll have about 36 emblems (more like 34 since your first random of the day will give you 2 Frost, and you probably will want to keep those instead of downgrading). That’ll let you buy the shoulders or hands of Tier 9 (ilevel 232) or a ring (ilevel 245).[/li][li]Most stuff will cost a lot more than that, but if you run two or three dungeons regularly, you’ll have a solid set of gear in less than a month, not just from the Triumph badges but also from collecting drops in dungeons.[/li][li]After about a month of running at least one random dungeon a day, you’ll have 60 Emblems of Frost, which is just enough to buy a shiny 251 shoulder piece or 264 waist, hands, or cloak. Earning Frost is slow when just running heroics, since it’s intended to be current raid-level stuff, but you can eventually pick it up. Although I’d probably recommend skipping the level 245 Libram and buying the 264 Libram for 30 Frost instead, as it seems to be better for general DPS use. You can buy that after 15 days, then buy a cloak after 25 days. It’s totally up to you on what to aim for first, though, and you’ll usually want your first piece to be the thing that gives you the biggest upgrade.[/li][/ul]
I’m already wearing the iLvl 264 Raging Behemoth’s Shoulderplates, so I’m probably good there, unless the set bonus from the Frost gear is good enough to justify replacing them. My most “urgent” slots are hands and pants, which are still iLvl 200 rep reward pieces (Kirin Tor and Wrymrest, respectively), and my iLvl 200 cloak. My chest and wrists are both iLvl 245 crafted pieces, head and waist are iLvl 226, drop and crafted, respectively. Well, you can see it all here.
Wow. That’s…a really good set of gear considering you’ve never run a heroic or set foot in a raid yet. You should have no trouble keeping up in any of the heroics as Eilyssana. I mean, hell, other than those level 158 pieces, Keliraeda’s almost ready to run heroics herself.
Expensive, though
But I keep making gold doing this and that, with really nothing else to spend it on.
Though I’m apparently well-geared enough for 10-man Ulduar, Onyxia, and ToC, or even 25-man Ulduar, according to WoW-Heroes. So it’s about time I got busy, I suppose.
And, I found out something neat (which y’all prob’ly already knew, right?)
You hit alt z and Wolkie draws his weapons.

And here: http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff71/Drummerboy49/wolkiebadass3.jpg
Cool, huh?
What’s really cool is the way he does it. Just reaches and there they are: either the sword or that mean-ass cross bow!
Thought y’all might wanna hear Wolk’s new theme song! (Yeah we know it’s the KIA commercial, but it fits!) ![]()
Thanks
