World of Warcraft questions

Um … apparently you didnt realize that you could enchant and re enchant and re enchant teh same item over and over and over again? I think I did each bit of my armor and weapons at least 50 times each …

No need to apologize!

As **jayjay **pointed out, they’re along the shore of the ocean, not the river. You don’t want to go down onto the beach though. That’s where the murlocs are. You want to stay up on top of the cliffs that overlook the beach.

Are you trying to travel overland? There’s no foot route from Stormwind to Ironforge. You have to take the underground tram that runs between them.

When you get to Ironforge, go out the front gates by the auction house. Follow the road down the mountain. When you get to the bottom, you should be close enough to Kharanos for an arrow to show up on your minimap pointing the rest of the way.

 Yeah, I did take the tram to Iron Forge, but when I tried to get off, my toon fell down beneath the tracks! :D:D:D

So when I finally did come back up, I went through some double doors and out the back into some snow and ice and tried to get to Kharanos and I did see that little diamond-looking arrow, but as I tried to move towards it, it kept moving away, and I finally gave up.

That’s what I meant when I wrote it was out of my reach…

I got on the tram at Stormwind and rode it all the way to Ironforge…

Thanks

If you bear right when you come out the front gates of Ironforge, there’s a main road that heads down the mountain. If you bear left there’s a trail that goes up higher and ultimately dead-ends. If you took the trail to the left instead of the main road it might have seemed like there was no way to get to Kharanos.

While you’re following the main road down the mountain you won’t be heading *straight *for Kharanos. Don’t be misled. The road veers off the to right a bit. But when you get to the bottom you’ll come to a T-intersection with a signpost. The signpost for Kharanos points to the left which should match the arrow on your minimap. Go left at the T-intersection, cross over a little bridge, and Kharanos is dead ahead.

I did that the first time I started a toon on enchanting. I got him to about 150 skill and got tired of blowing all my money on it (I gave it up for a gathering profession).

Nowadays, you don’t have to do that. Get a bunch of vellums and enchant those. Then you can give them to your other toons or sell them on the auction house. You don’t make a lot, but at least you’ll make something.

I should have asked this before I put my character on a wind rider…is there an AH in Hellfire Peninsula? I often end up having to hearth back to Orgrimmar or fly to the gate, rin to Stonard and fly to UC to unload items I can’t use but can sell at auction.

Nope. No AH or class trainers in Outland or Northrend. Only in Old World.

If you’re spending time in Outland, it probably makes more sense to set your hearthstone to Shattrath and use the gates there to go to the capital city of your choice. Saves a lot of hassle getting back to Outland.

What server are you on? I can get a toon started ahead of time.

Gates? I don’t know about that. I’ll have to check. That would make the trip less of a hassle.

Yep, Shattrath is like a central hub, with portals to all the major cities. You definitely want to hearth there as early in the game as possible.

:smack: That never occurred to me!

I thought vellums were for Inscription? Not that I’ve actually even seen a vellum in-game. What’s a vellum? Isn’t that a kind of paper? How could I enchant a piece of paper when all my enchant “recipes” were item-specific: “Enchant Bracer”, “Enchant Chest”, etc.?
On another subject: Mountaineer Pebblekitty is a pain in the ass. But now I have the Key to Searing Gorge, which I’m happy to have. Now I don’t have to go from Thelsamar and all the way through Badlands to get to Searing Gorge.

It looks like timing is everything when selling on the AH. Most of the enchanting materials I posted a couple days ago expired without selling. So I just posted them up again, and this time most of them have sold. Same with a bunch of things I posted a couple days ago. No sell, repost, sell. My pally is getting richer and richer! She now has 569g, 10s. I can stop worrying about whether she’ll have money for Journeyman Riding at lvl 60.

There are several types of vellum available to enchanters as of the last major patch. They work like this:

Any enchant that could go on any kind of weapon may instead be used to enchant a “weapon vellum.” The basic weapon vellum can only be used on enchants that don’t specify an item level (e.g., “may only be used on items level 35 or higher”), but there is a weapon vellum II and weapon vellum III and so forth.

The same is true of armor vellums, so you could put that “enchant bracer” onto an armor vellum instead of a bracer.

Once you’ve enchanted the vellum, it becomes a sellable version of the enchant. You can put your “enchant bracer, lesser intellect” on the vellum, sell it on the auction house or pop it in the guild bank, and whoever buys it can then apply it to their bracer, even if they aren’t enchanters.

That it is. Your best time to put things up is Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. More people play on the weekend, so you get more eyes than during the week.

I am in Alekstrasia and my toon is named Wolkenlaufre. I should be back Monday at 2 pm or whenever you say.

Thanks wonderlust

Q

Why walk when you can ride? There is a flight master at Thorium Point in the north west part of the Searing Gorge, this is also where you find most of the quests for the zone.

I started a toon named Iain on your server. I’m assuming you mean 2pm server time, and I’ll see you then.

It never occurred to you to get the flight points in all the zones … you can get a flightpoint in searing gorge - hop a flight in loch moden and go for coffee, when you get back you are in thorium point=)

You too, huh?

I was in that zone for 30 seconds before thinking, “I’m gonna pwn the Army of Northern Virginia.”

Double edged sword though. There are also more people undercutting you and there is more competition for the sales. I’m all about the gathering professions and I have a much harder time selling anything on weekends. I’ll match my price to the lowest on the AH and find that the price has plummeted after about an hour.
