I was wondering if anyone has figured out how many square miles the total landmass of Warcraft takes up (Azeroth and Outland)? It seems like it would be pretty easy to figure out considering spell ranges are in yards but I am having trouble finding any info other than “lolnerd, over 9000!!!” 
Google gives many conflicting answers, including 80 square miles (before BC) (corroboration), or 1176 sq mi, or 250,000 sq mi. Clearly somebody is not on the right track.
The methodology of methods differ; some estimate running speed and derive distance from mph and time, while some utilize the spell distances to estimate.
Yep, should have been more clear. I was wondering how many square miles, using Blizzard’s measure of yards (for spells, etc.) the entire landmass is.
