Earl Campbell.
Hakeem Olajuwon.
Full troll would involve releasing a hive full of actual killer bees into the crowd.
Ok, who actually did it last night? (I never watch all the pre-game crap.)
Jackie Robinson’s widow and family. I think it was her son or nephew who threw the actual ball, but they were all out there. In hindsight, a somewhat obvious choice none of us came up with!
Brilliant choice. Thanks, Munch.
Tonight is apparently Fernando V. coming out in relief of Vin Scully for the first pitch.
Well, I don’t live in LA any more and I’m an Astros fan now, but Vin made me laugh and cry all at the same time. What a guy. He really gives meaning to “they don’t make them like that any more.” Having to listen to Buck blather after hearing Vin say “It’s time for Dodger baseball” one more time is really a terrible let-down. Nice to see Fernando again too.
Jackie was my father’s favorite player so good try Dodgers. I’m still not going to forget that you broke my father’s heart in 1958 and he never fully recovered.
And you tried to trade Jackie to the Giants. The Giants! Not forgetting that either.
There is a huge gap between Vin and second place. Easily the best baseball broadcaster of all time. Maybe of all sports.
Oh, this is wonderful! So glad I recorded tonight.
I didn’t think it was possible for Vin Scully to become any more beloved, but I think he did it.
George HW Bush was in the stands - in not sure if he’ll be up for another night out on the town for tomorrow. The fans will likely want to see their Astros heroes - wouldn’t be surprised if it was Nolan being caught by Biggio. But is there any bad blood in Houston since Nolan has ownership in Arlington? If so, then it’s the Bees.
