World Trade Center

I think this is as close as they come to being an open declaration of war… except for the fact that it probably wasn’t any government’s doing.

It is time for the whole world to get tough omn international terrorism. What did the guy say in The Karate Kid? “Strike fast, strike hard, no mercy sir.”

I can’t hear you!

“Strike fast strike hard no mercy sir!”

Move in swiftly to expected terrorist areas.

Do we really expect that this will pave the way to US-assisted Israeli domination of the Palestinians? I doubt that… god, don’t let this be the start of a real war.

Hey everyone,
I have been at work all morning,I work in a Senior Citizens Center. We left the television going all morning, and I have been listening to various Senior Citizens comment on this all morning.
An informal poll among my local seniors ( i’m 36 by the way)
produced the following results

  1. of 75 present 53 are in favor of an immediate declaration of war, hampered only by the fact that they don’t know who to declare war on.
  2. 42 said this reminded them of the day Pearl Harbor was bombed, they are experiencing the same emotions they had that day.
  3. 18 of them are concerned for the safety of grandchildren now serving in the military.
  4. 71 said they hoped this didn’t affect there social security.

Now,for my own opinions;
We should indeed declare war, on ALL terrorists.
We are going to face serious problems as the persons suspected of these heinous actions see this as some sort of holy war, most Americans seem to be having trouble mustering a convincing amount of patriotism, let alone enough zeal to die willingly and voluntarily for our cause. We are going to have to promote a wave of national pride, remembering that that pride encompasses persons of all ethnic and religous backgrounds.
So, where do we start???

I feel sick. The worst thing about all of this is the way everyone is now screaming for revenge.

Don’t get me wrong. I understand and sympathize with those feelings of anger, and I’m glad people are expressing it here, where they can get the rage out of their systems.

But I don’t want war. I don’t want us bombing some other country’s civilian targets. It won’t help. Blood for blood is one of the sickest human urges I can think of.

However, I think it is inevitable.
You’ll have to pardon me if I’m sick to my stomach, though.

You’re right, it was heat of the moment. My sister worked in the tower, but she wasn’t there yet when the first plane hit. I found out she was ok shortly before posting that, so I was still a little worked up. It was more of me just venting.

After calming down, I totally agree with you. I was out of line. I just wish there was someone to point the finger at, but I have a feeling this was a small group of suicidal maniacs that are all dead now.

I just thank my lucky stars that my sis is ok. Some people get to win the lottery and become millionaires, I get to keep my sister. I think I’m the luckier one.

I just hope that until and unless there is some constructive way to bring military force to bear against a known and proven target - that the calls for blood will be limited to the Red Cross.

Let’s wait to cry Havoc! and let slip the dogs of war until we know who is responsible. I don’t believe it was a small group that did this; I am willing to bet that the terrorists were a tentacle of a larger organization.

The unilateral attack on Muslims is a base betrayal of what our country is supposed to represent. If we allow these vermin to make us subvert our freedoms and our tolerance of diverse faiths and races, then they will have won. Just because some of their co-religionists are a bunch of suicidal wackos is no reason for a blanket condemnation of all Muslims.

The belief that is OK to kill innocents in order to exact revenge is the same reasoning used by the kamikaze terorists today. The worst thing your enemy can do is to make you just like him. Don’t let that happen to the USA.

**“1.) All middle eastern nationals (not U.S. citizens) need to be expelled within 48 hours.”
**

Anyone that says we need to expel Arabic or Middle Eastern people from our country for this act are idiots. I personally know several nationals from the Middle East who are hard working and proud to be in America and I know they would NEVER endorse this, and if anything are even more embarrassed and outraged just like all of us.

I’m afraid many Americans sterotype Arabs and Moslems and Middle Eastern people as dark skinned “towelheads” walking around in sheets or turbans running the cash register behind the 7-11 counter, then going home to make bombs. Many “arabs” and “moslems” or people from the Middle East are white and black and even East Asian, and would easily pass for a typical white, black or asian “american”. Not to get racist, but I think my point is let’s not point fingers at the first dark skinned guy with a funny accent working the register at the local uni mart.

That attitude reminds me of an 80s TV movie where terrorists attack small american towns, and people react by looting Arab owned businesses.

Keep in mind we just executed a mid-western lily white American for a similar act of horror. When Oklahoma City exploded and McVeigh was arrested why didn’t we just expel all white European nationals from our country?

Now is not the time for mob mentality and for us to turn on our neighbors, that would be falling exactly into the terrorists hands. Let’s turn our fury on the actual individuals responsible, and the governments that shelter these monsters.

Just wanted to state that the number of people in the various planes that have crashed in this incident is 266. One hundred more than in Oklahoma City, in the plane crashes alone.

While i sympathize with your sentiments, I don’t see any of this as very productive.

  1. Countrary to popular belief, not all people of middle eastern descent are suicide bombers, and nearly all of them are as innocent as you or I. And the Oklahoma bombing didn’t prompt anybody to call for the expulsion of all Caucasians from America, did it?
  2. Israel already has carte blanche permission to do whatever they want - they’re a sovereign nation. Also, you can’t hold all Palestinians accountable for the terrorist deeds of a few madmen. This would also put us at loggerheads with much of the Middle East, much of which consists of our allies and business partners (read: oil suppliers).
  3. Afghanistan has some 26 million inhabitants, many of whom probably don’t even know there’s a place called New York. Nuking these people would be a terrible tragedy. Besides, Afghanistan borders to China and several former Soviet republics, in addition to being pretty close to densely populated India. This is where a lot of the fallout would land, with predictable consequences.

Instead, we should send in a conventional task force and bring back the people responsible for this - preferably in a cage.

Hey everybody, hate to break in here, but I just got off the phone from my local blood bank. Took me FIVE tries to get through. They have people waiting up to an hour to give blood. I made my next appontment for tomorrow, even though I’m extremely needlephobic. It’s needed people, go vent some blood painlessly, instead of the anger. It’s something we can do to help instead of rant(I’m planning my rant for later, want to do a good job.) Sorry for the hijack.

How do you know it’s the Arabs? George W. Bush, Boy President, has been pissing of just about every fucking psycho group on the face of the Earth during his short time in office - I just hope he’s capable of sorting out this mess now.

Sorry, happened to re-post an earlier post (danged Internet Explorer “Back”-button). Moderator, could you please remove it?

And that is what they expect will protect them.

People, We need to calm down here.

We need to channel our anger into a determined search for the people responsible for this crime. And we need to make certain that terrorism in no form be allowed to exist anywhere in the world.

There has been a great tragedy. But let not this be the seed of an even greater injustice.

Blind generalizations and calls for war against any country/ethnic group at this point in time is entirely irrational. Pursuing this kinda blood-thirsty logic means stooping to the same level as those who committed this heinous crime.

Terrorism affects a whole host of countries around the world. India, Isreal, Uk, Sri-Lanka, Russia and now the US. We need to recognize this as an international problem. And make a concerted effort to root this out altogether. And if there are countries that support such outfits, they should be severely punished.

That would be the most devastating revenge we can deliver to this menace. Total annihilation of terrorism

Isn’t that what we’re talking about?

To clarify further, I am trying to emphasize that just getting Osama Bin Laden today [ if he is found responsible ] is not the complete solution. There are scores of terrorist organizations all over the globe. And each one of them can potentially cause something like this.

Its important to ensure that this doesn’t happen again globally to any country.

Oh really, Anth? And who were you intending to use them on?

Also, after you’ve caused “collateral damage” that compares to the death toll you’ve just seen, what’s going to happen next?

At a rough guess, some clever guy in a far off country, who recently lost friends and family to the devil USA, is going to plan his revenge. How about biological? And then it’s going to be not tens but hundreds of thousands of casualties in the US. And then what - nuke some more people?

Actually, I see your point. If only we nuke everyone, we can put an end to the violence forever.

Screw em. And I mean all of em.

To all the panty waist who say, “but we don’t know who did it”

Yea we know. We’ve known for a long time.

They’re the terrorists, we not only know who they are, we know where they live. We know the governments that shelter them.

Until yesterday we paid them little mind.

But yesterday they entered our home. Yesterday they violated our family.

We should treat them like the bandits that they are.

This is not the time for used up phrases like “cowardly attack”, or “dispicacable action”. It is not a time for “measured” or “calculated” response.

This time they entered the lions den.

This is a time for blind rage. We should strike out with all our avalible fury. Not only destroying those that did this unspeakable horror. But all those who would contemplate it.

The key to wiping out this threat is not appeasment. It is the destruction of our enemies.

Oh really. Who is it then? Who did this?

EvilGhandi, in the asshole of life I am honored to give you the title of Hemorrhoid. Wear it with pride.
