<Dunno if this is a Great Debate or an IMHO>
Will the various international aggressions that have been brewing (Isreal/Palestine, WTC/Pentagon attacks, Pakistan/India) be looked at in retrospect as the events leading up to World War III? This is a purely speculative post of course, and a dark one at that.
I think there is a tendency to look at the World Wars with a sense of a definite start and ending with clearly defined alliances from the outset. But as those events and alliances were playing themselves out at the time, I doubt the entities were thinking “Here is the beginning of (the Great War/World War II).”
What do you think?
I think this is Spell Checker III.
I think once Pakistan & India nuke each other, that people will look for peaceful soultions to other problems. It will ba a major wake up call, to say the least.
I worry about several aspects of an Indian Pakistani exchange, but it just struck me that they have 30 seconds warning, so the first strike guy might get away with it, tempting other third world countries with nuclear capability to try it.
Damn.
Here’s the thing that amazes me. What kind of a madman would nuke a country that is so close to his/her own?
People who don’t really understand what a nuclear weapon is–that it’s not just a matter of a bigger boom.
