World's Fair Shanghai China

So, say I want to go to the new world’s fair in Shanghai, what is it like? Epcot Center in Florida? Or more like a museum?
Are there rides?
What does one do at a world’s fair?
Can I see it in a day? A week?
Can I just show up at the door and buy tickets?
Any questions I’ve missed and should be asking?

Here’s their website which includes the various exhibits and pavilions:

It doesn’t look like you can buy tickets at the gate. I believe you’re Canadian, and if that’s the case, your authorized travel agent is Tian Bao Travel. The website is here:

Individual standard day admission is $24, with a three day ticket for $63, and seven days for $163.

For people in the US, your authorized agency is Peregrine Travel Group, which can be found here:

and individual standard day admission is $26, with a three day ticket for $63, and seven days for $141.

The thing that I find amusing is that the city of Shanghai already looks like a friggin’ Disney city of tomorrow, only a lot more expensive. The Bund is old school European and the Pudong is the craziest high tech looking metropolis around. Hell, they have a maglev train to the airport. 20 years ago, the Pudong was a rice paddy.

I think the Maglev only goes to Longyang Rd but it is pretty cool; I seem to remember getting a photo of the speed (which is posted at the front of each car) of 400+ KM/Hr.
I think Shanghai (and China in general) is pretty cheap unless you go to the big malls…
One big difference between Shanghai and Disney is that they turn off their lights at night. Looks like a ghost town, even in Pudong w/ the skyscrapers.
