Old news. MAW was bought by Pioneer Railcorp about 2 years ago, and renamed the Napoleon, Defiance & Western. Pioneer has put A LOT of private and gubmint monies into track rehab, with the goal of 25 MPH maximum on the first cut.

That was so painful to watch, I think I’m just going to head straight to the Shinkansen station after work and stare at those beautiful, beautiful, straight, smooth tracks to regain some peace of mind.
No kidding, those rails are a thing of beauty; I’ve rode both the Shinkansen and the Shanghai maglev train and the Shinkansen was smoother than the one floating in air.
