Worse then Lorena Bobbitt.

You must have missed the first post in the thread, which quoted people doing exactly that.

Now, I’ll certainly grant that comments on an Internet news article are usually full of awful people voicing awful opinions and are not necessarily representative of society as a whole (at least I certainly hope not). Nevertheless, saying you don’t see anyone endorsing mutilation is simply willful blindness.

Sigh. This would dilute the real forms of domestic violence so much as to be unrecognizable. I mean, seriously. That poor wife of the MMA fighter that got nine ways of crap kicked out of her and was raped into the bargain should be put into the same bucket as a woman whose husband stepped out on her once at Vegas?

I know I’d rather have my husband step out on me than beat the hell out of me. Both hurt but they are not remotely equal.

What was the song name?

> Both of these things are tragic and should NEVER occur, are NEVER okay, in any way! (Am I being clear, on this?)

Definitely – any violence which is not self – defense is unjustifiable.

> Considering the dangers of sexually transmitted infections, infidelity could easily be considered a form of domestic violence.

I do not think infidelity is a crime in any state. It is in Philippines. But retaliation assault is unjustified.

Is this a whoosh or are you not aware of the Carrie Underwood song Before He Cheats?

I dug my key into the side
Of his pretty little souped up four wheel drive
Carved my name into his leather seats . . . .

That song raises my hackles.

Thanks – I do not listen to much music.

elbows, you’re being a thing called ‘sensible’. That never works on the internet. I agree with you though.

It’s told from the perspective of another woman that the guy has cheated on, ostensibly written by the ex. (Creepy yes.)

Also, it attacks a car. Not a person. (With some guys, that is actually worse, so point to song.)
Also written by two guys:

And then, there was this guy who
Made his wife so mad one night that she cut off his weiner
And when he finally came to
He found that Mr. Happy was missing
He couldn’t quite explain it
It’d always just been there

Al Yankovic, “Headline News”

Your poll needs the option “Our society is incredibly sexist against men.” That’s the only takeaway here, simply by the fact that such a thing is considered even quasi-acceptable and little more than a punchline. Yet can you imagine the outrage if we were talking about mutilating the genitals of a woman who cheated?

Yeah, infidelity can be worse. Broken bones heal, but AIDS or one of the penicillin resistant syphilis strains more or less ends your life. And while herpes isn’t fatal, it isn’t curable either. Then there’s the problem of children conceived in extramarital affairs where one spouses dalliance can harm the other’s paycheck for 18 years.

So, if a woman cheated, and her husband used extreme physical violence on her in retaliation, would there be the same praise for his violence?

There’s subtle double standards…and then there’s flabbergasting obvious double standards.

And will rejecting the crazy cause you to get your penis severed?

Ah yes. “Let’s wait until A is no longer a thing, and then we’ll get around to worrying about B”. In that case, I have a short list of Bs that we never need to hear about again…

Here’s the music.
Its really just the flip side of this song, which the same women whooping to song one would probably hiss and cat-call at.
Either way, can’t we all agree to just stop trying to give Loach more business!?

I didn’t choose any of the poll options. Cheating isn’t okay, but neither is destroying property or mutilating people.

Thanks – I have youtube to mp3 converter.

Infidelity is not a crime in USA, it is in Philippines. Is it in China?

In any case, violent retaliation is unacceptable, while self – defense is a right.

I agree with Krouget. While it may seem at first blush like a satifying response to being hurt, destroying property or mutilating someone is never acceptable. I choose Option 2, because, even it you aren’t going to cheat, you still shouldn’t marry a psycho.
