worst date ever

Has this been done before? I don’t really care if it has,'cause I feel like bitching. . . I’ve been on three dates in my life, and they all sucked.

  1. First date-- he took me to a rodeo

  2. Blind/double date with a friend of mine’s girlfriend’s friend–we were going to see a movie. He brought his ham radio. The theater wouldn’t let him in because of it. He chose to stay outside rather than lose the ham radio. Out of politeness, I stay outside, too. He didn’t pay attention to me at all the entire time, and he called the next day to dump me. On my answering machine.

  3. The worst without a doubt. Some background information–the summer before my junior year of high school, I was totally in love with this guy named Will Foster. Totally in love with him. I asked him out on a date, he gave me some bullshit excuse that I didn’t catch on was a bullshit excuse, because it gave me hope for a future relationship with him. I didn’t give up, so he had to dump me again harder. Very hard. He said that he wasn’t physically attracted to me at all, altough he thought I was a very smart and talented girl, and that’s why it wouldn’t work out between us. I cried. A lot.
Flash forward two years later–this guy who works at Blockbuster Video named Alex asks me out on a date. He’s a real cutie, and both “The Usual Suspects” and “Rock and Roll High School” are his employee picks, so I give him a chance. One night, we’re talking on the phone, and he mentions his best friend–Will Foster. I freak out, and tell him the story behind the guy, and why I don’t like him, and how I can’t even talk to Will anymore because he hurt me so much. Two days later, we’re going out on our date–Alex invited Will. Will, who dumped me and called me ugly and Alex knew about this. The entire evening was awful. Will and I couldn’t even look at each other, it was very awkward, and I caused a scene in the restaurant when Will repeatedly mentioned that the waitress was really hot. And the worst part is, the fact that Alex did this (and was friends with Will) didn’t tip me off to what an ass he was. We went on two more dates, until he had Will dump me for him.

So–beat my bad dates! I dare you!

It has been covered before, but no winner was ever declared. Just rest assured you have plenty of company, myself included.

I doubt that it will beat many others, but my worst date was:

A second date, friend-of-a-friend type acquaintance.
He kept insisting I tell him how I thought it was going, like he wanted my assessment of our future, or something. I tried to dodge the question many times, since I after a date and a half I didn’t have much to go on. I told him it was too early to say, since I didn’t know him very well yet. He said I must know him well enough by then, since we’d been out twice. I jokingly told him that though it was apparent he wasn’t a psychopath, he might yet turn out to be a sociopath.

He seemed to find that an amusing witticism, but kept insisting I tell him how I thought things were going. Finally I relented and told him there didn’t seem to be any chemistry between us.

He was evidently offended, because he let me know in no uncertain terms that because I had been “man-less” for 2 years (mostly by choice, I’ll have you all know) that I had no right to be picky and that I should take whatever I was lucky enough to attract. Meaning him. Ha!

What a loser. We quickly finished our drinks in silence, then walked together to the subway and parted ways. As we parted he said “It’s been real” and I replied “Surreal’s more like it.” I’m not good at snappy comebacks, so that was the best comeback in my life and I was really proud of myself!

The next day I found out from our mutual friend that he had told her I had called him a psychopath and he had stormed out of the bar and left me sitting there.

I thought that was pretty funny.
