Worst musical artists, ever?

Judging from this, it sounds like your ire should be directed at their soundman, and not the band themselves, because (again, judging from the clip) they ain’t 'alf bad. I’d opt to see one of their shows over any performance by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and I say that as a big Swingers fan.

I’ve never shown an iota of interest in this band and would never go out and buy anything by them. But they were the opening act for U2 last fall and I have to admit that their live performance was all sorts of kick-ass.

Plus, there’s always the possibility Fergie will piss herself onstage again.

Six number one singles, platinum albums, films, world tours… but you piss yourself onstage just once, and that’s all anyone will remember.

“Here lies Fergie: she pissed herself. On a stage. Could possibly have also been a singer, we don’t remember.”

Poor old Fergie-Ferg.

Hey! I like “In the Cold, Cold Night” better than many of their other songs, and she sings it.

She is most certainly the worst in the past decade! And that song, “Tik Tok” is enough to make me want to slap her upside the head!

And I know I will not be popular when I mention Harry Chapin - his melodramatic lyrics and droning singing style made me want to vomit whenever his songs were on the radio. He reminded me of that drunk in the corner with his guitar at every party who insisted on singing songs all night.

I feel like defecating whenever I hear “Dance Band on the Titanic”, which a good friend of mine touted very highly several years ago (he’s a pretty big Chapin fan in general). Yes, it features the great Steve Gadd on drums; no, the fact that it does makes the song not one iota more listenable.

You, I like!
Frank Zappa, I don’t.

I’d (mercifully) completely forgotten about Harry Chapin’s existence when I posted to this thread. An excellent choice. I find myself laughing out loud at his “serious” lyrics, which I’m sure isn’t the result he was going for. A monumentally shitty artist.
One of my favorite record reviews is for Chapin’s Short Stories here.

Michael Bolton. Always sounded like he was screaming more than signing.

Over 100 replies and no Shatner? Nah… must have missed it somewhere…

Riding on their armchairs
They dream of wealth and fame
Fear is their companion
Nintendo is their game
Never done jack and two thumbs Don
And sidekick don’t say dick
We’ll laugh at others failures
Though they have not done shit

The unholy alliance of Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey. Suck, squared.

I never got Zappa, either. I bought his ‘classic’ Joe’s Garage. Gawd Awful.

I like Rush, though. At least, late 70’s, early 80’s Rush.

Jobraith
Klaus Nomi
that idiot who did “Chocolate Rain”

Prolly not the fault of the sound guy. At least, not the fault of BJL & Hb’s sound guy.

A lot of times, the headline act brings the PA. As such, the board is configured (EQ’d, gain structure set, matrixes written) for the headliner, and often the opening band’s audio guy is forced to make do without being able to use much of the console except for the channel faders. I know from experience, it’s almost impossible to do well with those limitations.

I love that song. It’s a perfect blend of pop and rock. Unless you don’t like pop/rock I suppose.

BrokeNCYDE. It’s bad. It’s very, very, very bad. And I’m really surprised nobody’s mentioned it yet.

That name alone is absolutely cringeworthy.

Listen to it. It’s screamo. BAD screamo. With bonus girl-choking.

@E-Sabbath, a girl choking on something, or a girl being choked?

By the way, isn’t the “emo” label just ridiculous? All music is -or at least should be- emotional. Anger, hate, fear, love and joy can all be expressed in music. Not just anaeamic pseudo-indie pop-rock, but quite literally any kind of music.

(The mention of “screamo” somehow inspired me to go on a silly little rant. Sorry.)
