I think I am watching the worst episode of Seinfeld ever. Its the one where Kramer gets his own meat slicer, George gets a job and needs his bosses picture airbrushed because it reveals a secret that he doesn’t want his boss to know, Elaine has a cat/alarm going off in an un occupied apt next door and uses Kramers slicer to feed the cat.
Idiodic.
This show got so far fetched the last few seasons and this is a prime example. Awful episode. Suffered the same way that the SImpsons has suffered the last few years with no good material left so they just turn the character quirks up to 10 and let it rip.
What do you think the worst episode ever was?
(2nd place goes to the episode where kramer gets a screen door. 3rd to the one where kramer butters and burns himself and newman wants to eat him, and 4th when kramer set up a talk show in his apt)
For all its ridiculousness, I thought the writers did a nice job weaving together plot elements in the “meat slicer” episode. I’ve definitely seen worse.
Like the one where Jerry is paranoid about the doorman playing “mind games.” It just didn’t hold together, and didn’t feel like a Seinfeld episode. (A fantasy sequence? Come on!)
Stinkpalm, your local network must have the same syndication package ours does in Miami, because they’ve shown all those episodes you named in the last week (including the meat slicer episode earlier this evening).
However, I think Julia Louis-Dreyfuss was a lot hotter in the last season, with straight hair.
I think “Seinfeld” got better as the characters gradually slid into psychosis. As with “The Simpsons” I have a hard time watching episodes from the first couple of seasons; by comparision they’re just not that funny. The one where they’re at the party and Elaine does the “dingo took your baby” bit? Awful. I’d tie that one with the episode about the gal who comes to visit Jerry and he doesn’t know whether she wants to sleep with him, whatever, yadda yadda yadda…
i liked every episode…the ones that i didnt care for were the two best of ones…where they play clips of different episodes…but once i start to watch the clips episodes i get into to them…so i like em all just the clips ones i like less
I’m not fond of the episode where Kramer is boycotting the Post Office. Actually, that’s not true. I like the other storyline in that episode with the van and George dating his cousin. But, there’s something about the post office part that falls flat. The only funny part of that piece is the ‘chat’ with Wilford Brimley, the Post Master General.
I can’t believe nobody said “The Betrayal” (AKA the backwards episode). It’s my favorite show, but that episode was a silly gimmick whose few well-done aspects, like the lollipop getting bigger and showing Jerry meeting Kramer for the first time, couldn’t save it from the total lack of humor.
There’s an early episode that gets shown around here a lot, perhaps from the first season. It involved Jerry and Elaine setting up George with a female friend of Elaine’s. They have sex, and George’s condom (which he got from Kramer) breaks. I didn’t like it the first time I saw it, and now that I see it about every other week, I like it even less. Nothing funny in the episode.
I agree with “The Betrayal”. It was neat the first time, but terribly annoying in syndication.
The worst episode, for me, is the first episode “The Seinfeld Chronicles”. No Elaine. Kramer’s character is named Feldman, a man who hasn’t left his apartment in years but manages to keep a dog. The first season wasn’t that good at all.
