I almost added that clip-Thank you!
“Because you can’t win, Rock! This guy will kill ya to death inside of three rounds!” - Not so sure. . . that sounds like something Rocky’s trainer would say to my ears. It’s like a Yogi Berra kinda line.
Apparently this line was left over from earlier versions of the script where Toad was supposed to brag about things Toads can do throughout the film, with Storm’s line as a comeback.
A few fron this classic film:
-
"I did not hit her, it’s not true! It’s bulls***! I did not hit her!
I did NOT. Oh hi, Mark."
-
“You betrayed me! You’re not good. You, you’re just a chicken. Chip-chip-chip-chip-cheep-cheep.”
Terms of Endearment, said to the terminally ill Debra Winger character by her friend, “You’re my touchstone, Emma!”
Alfred, Lord Tennyson. “Only reapers, reaping early”
“With great power comes great responsibility”.
Ha, that’s one of my favorite lines!
“You are great!”
I think it actually fits so well; throughout the movie, Madmartigan has been such a pompous ass, all braggadocio… but until that point in the movie, he has never held a sword. And when he finally gets one, Willow sees that all his talk actually wasn’t just bullshit; he really is an excellent swordsman just like he claimed.
Val Kilmer’s goofy smile and flourish of the sword in response (basically, “See? I told you I was the best!”) followed by immediately slipping in the ice and snow makes me chuckle every time.
Dan Conner: “Come on, do you want to go down to the multiplex and watch Debra Winger cough up another lung?” ![]()
Q in the “Unofficial” Bond sequel “Never Say Never Again” gives a line of exposition that clearly was only written so they could put it in the trailers as a stinger.
Good to see you, Mr. Bond. Things’ve been awfully dull 'round here. Bureaucrats running the whole place. Everything done by the book. Can’t make a decision unless the computer gives you the go ahead. Now you’re on this. I hope we’re going to have some gratuitous sex and violence!
Try to find any good single line from that movie?
I will say that movie is “artistic”.
