Would EXHUMING Kennedy today yield any useful evidence?

Yes, it would tell us that reason has completely abandoned America.

Not that I needed the heads up.

I don’t know if it would tell us anything, but I’m for it.

Why not? We can do that whole Clancy Wiggum thing where he uses the skull as a puppett(what’s left of his skull, that is).

Great factual answers. I’m going to be a hypocrite and give a non-factual answer myself now:

IANAFE(Forensics Expert), but I suspect that a truly factual answer on this one may be impossible, since any answer is likely to rely heavily on speculation. You could say, “yes, it may reveal that, instead of bullets, the shooter(s) actually fired Roswell Rods at JFK, and that’s what really killed him.” Doesn’t make it a factual answer, but it could be a possiblity.

Wasn’t he cremated?

No, he he was no cremated.

With a 1920’s style deathray?

Definitely not cremated. He was Catholic, and that was strictly forbidden.

No, creatmion was not strictly forbidden by the Catholic Church. In 1963, the Catholic Church lifted the prohibition forbidding Catholics to choose cremation.

To be exact, the Catholic prohibition was lifted in May 1963, six months before Kennedy’s death.

Actually, it would reveal if he was shot from the front (the grassy knoll) or not

No.

It will tell us what we already know - that there was a single shooter firing from behind. And then the conspiracy theorists will immediatly claim that the exhumed body is a fake, that the people doing the examination were in on the conspiracy, and everything will descend into yelling with nothing resolved.

If the autopsy, autopsy photos, and all the other evidence didn’t prove that, how would exhuming his body 40 years later reveal that? After 40 years, I’m not sure what would be left.

The only purpose it would serve would be to prove once and for all whether JFK’s autopsied brain was indeed placed in his grave.

The preserved brain was kept for a while at the National Archives. Then the Archives supposedly lost track of it. The disappearance has set a lot of conspiracy theorists on fire. They’re sure it disappeared to cover up – something.

However, researchers have noted that the brain was among a group of items in control of the family. One of the Archive workers with access to them was also a close Kennedy family associate. It’s been established that a trunk containing some of these items was turned over to Robert Kennedy before JFK’s body was moved for reburial. The body was originally place in a grave in Arlington Cemetery to await the construction of the monument where it now rests. When the monument was ready, the body was moved. When asked where the brain was, the Archive worker would say only that it is “where it belongs.” That leads a lot of people to suspect the family placed it in the coffin during the reburial. Which makes a lot of sense – they didn’t want it sitting in a government bureaucracy, open to morbid experiments. They interred it with the body.

Another point of weirdness-the coffin that was used to transport Kennedie’s body to Washington was destroyed (in order to prevent the souvineer ghouls from acquiring pieces ofit.
According to what I heard, the coffin was drilled full of holes, and dumped at sea. Maybe some deluded dope will get a grant and go looking for it?

Ahem.
There are repeated rumors that many of the skull fragments were missing from the autopsy.
If true, little could be learned.

And the national outcry over this exhumation…

Well, if skull fragments are missing it’s not surprising. The side of Kennedy’s skull fairly exploded at the exit wound. Motorcycle officers riding several yards from Kennedy were hit with blood and tissue. A piece of his skull was found in the grass along the street the following day, and it seems that Jackie Kennedy was reaching for another piece of the skull on the fender or trunk hood of the limousine.

exhuming would be a bit tricky. the cape cod granite pavers are appx 500 lbs each and anchored together. provisions were made to have mrs. kennedy spot accessable when she would have need of it. since her burial the site has been tightly sealed.

the orig grave site was a rather normal grass covered plot, surrounded by a picket fence until '67, when the site that most of us know was finished. kennedy was joined by a son and daughter in dec '63, the daughter was stillborn and patrick died shortly after he was born. i remember reading that mrs. kennedy wanted him to have the children with him, so they would all be together and not alone in sep. spots (daughter was in ri, son in ma). the three kennedys were moved quietly in '67 during construction.

the granite has been quite a “block” for people trying to tamper with the grave.

Translated to English, this means . . .?

…separate spots (daughter was in Rhode Island, son in Massachusetts).

Well, one of the neurosurgeons on duty has weighed in here onCNN that he, who SAW THE WOUND AND TRIED TO SAVE THE MAN, is sure for a fact he was shot from behind.

“There are many theories, some extreme, about what happened to the president,” Grossman says. “If we can put to rest some of the wilder conspiracy theories, I think it’s healthy to do so.”

Amen.
