Would it be shameless and self centered, if I started a thread to show-off my new....

webpage? I admit as far as webpages go, it’s not much. Just one page with some pictures. And it’s on geoshities, so it’s got those annoying pop-ups. But it’s my very first webpage, and I’m kind of proud of it.

Well, um…it might be a little less shameless if I could actually find the webpage.

I tried to link but your website keeps asking me for a credit card number in order to have an exclusive membership for "Hot Hillbilly Action!"

Is it worth it?

:frowning: It was there a minute ago.

      • A lot of ISP’s give you a meg or two for free. Do yers? Beware the bandwidth charges though…

Nice page. Nice pics. And you are looking good! Oh, and don’t worry, I’m not a freaky stalker. But, imho, you have that cool/hot thing going. It works.

Is Billy Bob that cat with the hairy chest?

Murfie looks like he is sulking. :frowning:

Nice webpage over all.

Stick with the brown hair. The off-blonde look doesn’t suit you nearly as well:)

Nice!

hillbilly queen just one suggestion.

You have two version of the same picture. (Let’s use Murfie as an example).

One in your root directory http://www.geocities.com/kathysq/murf.jpg which is actually a picture of 444x386 at 109,370 bytes. This one, you ‘resize’ to 232x201 to make it ‘smaller’ for the screen. Unfortunately, ‘resizing’ an image does not make the image actually smaller, it just makes it ‘visually’ smaller.
So, you still have to wait for the entire picture to download before it can be seen.

Then, you have the picture clickable but it then loads http://www.geocities.com/kathysq/photos/murf.jpg which is an identical picture but because it’s in a different directory I have to wait for that one to load before I can see it at full size.

I would make the picture on your home page smaller (by editing it with a graphics program) which will then do two things, one, reduce the actual image dimensions and two, reduce the file size. This will allow the page to load faster.

Then when people click on it, they will be taken to the picture in the ‘photos’ directory for the full size image.

Apart from that, ohhhhhhhhhhh, so cute !

That may be my next project. But I’m just learning how to add pictures now, so who knows how long it’ll be before I can accept credit card payments, and that age verification thing looks like it would be pain in the ass too.

Yep.

Actually, it’s even lighter now, but I’ll be geting back to brown eventually.
