I’m curious as to what the politicos here think. In my opinion, she’s very strong-willed and no-nonsense, and no doubt she would probably ‘get things done’ by bullying tactics and intimidation alone. But what are your thoughts on this bizarre daydream?
No. But it would be great to see her in a cage match with Judge Joe Brown.
somebody’s been watching a little too much daytime TV
No.
“Now listen here, Madame Speaker! Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining!”
“Shut UP, Senator Cornyn! I’m speaking!”
About as good as Jerry Springer or Morton Downey Jr.
No one appointed her Judge Judy and Executive!
She’s not a bullshitter though. I can’t imagine her, for example, lying about things or not being a total straightshooter.
She is a shitty judge who missed her distemper shots. There is no reason to believe that she would be any better at any other job.
“They didn’t elect me for my pretty face!”
Only knowing what I know about Judy Sheindlin from what I’ve seen of her on her show, I’ve never seen any indication that she has any particular understanding, or even opinions, on economics or foreign affairs. I’d have to hear something from her on those subjects before I could even consider her for high office.
Regarding how suitable her TV persona is for said office, which I’m sure is what the OP had in mind, I’d say NO. Way too confrontational, and, like with Limbaugh and O’Reilly, her schtick only works when responses to her browbeating, sweeping statements and sanctimonious moralizing are strictly controlled.
In any event, despite the number of former lawyers among the presidential roster, were many of them judges? Can’t think of any at the moment, and don’t have time to do any in-depth research. As an alternative, would Judge Judy make a good supreme court justice? Kinda doubt it, but in any event I’m much more impressed by the record (on TV at least) of Judge Marilyn Miliam of The People’s Court.
Even though she’s a total bitch, she has a really fucking good bullshit detector.
You’re going to hell for that, you know.
I can imagine what’s going to happen behind closed doors when she orders Byrd to “Get him out of here. Now!”
No, she’d make a horrible president. She’s full of herself, imperious and knows it all. Kind of reminds you of . . . someone.
Now, Judge Marilyn Milian, ummmm!
No. She’s a know-it-all tyrant. Why would you want that in a president? The president is our employee.
Actually, outside of his show, Jerry Springer is an intelligent and thoughtful person and he also happens to be a moderately successful politician.
Taft was made Chief Justice after he was president. I don’t know and can’t seem to formulate an effective google search for any who were judges prior to being elected POTUS.
She’d make a great president…
of a waste disposal company. She could pull that off, but nothing more.
Let’s see how she’d measure up against 435 representatives, 100 senators and 9 Supreme Court justices who can say “I wasn’t hired by you, and you can’t fire me!”
I’ve seen her make some leaps of logic that were quite frankly astounding. I don’t want that level of crazy in the White House.
I can’t agree. Sometimes, yes, but sometimes she’s incredibly off base and it’s blindingly obvious. Of course anyone that tries to call her on it gets shut down immediately. In her mind this gives her a 100% accuracy rate.
Then she ain’t qualified!
