I don’t think NATO and the US are so busy fighting mighty Afghan that they would not be able to protect Taiwan or retaliate.

Or are you saying because Bush is in Shanghai now, they should attack and hold GW hostage? That probably would make the US helpless without our capable leader.

yep, of course first they have to build an invasion fleet, neutralize Taiwan’s nuclear missles, somehow get past Taiwan’s coastal defenses, kiss goodbye to the Olympics, WTO and massive amounts of foreign direct investment that keeps the Chinese economy afloat, make Bush and Putin join Jiang Zemin in a press conference explaining why it makes sense (pretty convenient since the three of them are in Shanghai this week), do a little taoist exercise so all the US planes based in Japan can’t fly.

Um, ya, now would be a great time.

this opinion is based on the fact that i LIVE in taiwan.
