A 50-year-old hospital worker from Hanover Park was expected to bail herself out of federal jail Thursday after being charged with lying about a suburban operation to allegedly build an unmanned airplane in Pakistan.
The operation used Chicago’s niche as an international transportation hub to order the high-tech components from spy shops, hobby stores and communications companies from Lake Zurich to California. The parts were funneled through two Des Plaines shipping firms, which were instructed to send them via O’Hare International Airport to Canada en route to Pakistan, federal authorities alleged in court documents.
Not sure what tipped the Feds off, but it looks like even ordering the stuff necessary to build the thing would get you into a bit of trouble.:eek:

Well, he’s a Kiwi, so it might not set the alarm bells off with the Federales like shipping those things to Pakistan would. Definately going to have to watch the site and see what happens.
