A bunch of people film themselves dancing behind the backs of their unsuspecting co-workers.
I found it excruciatingly funny, but probably because I could see myself doing something like this. In fact, I’m fairly sure that I have. I’ve worked with a lot of stuffy scientists who needed some stealth disco going on in their office to help them loosen up.
But I’m wondering – would you, fellow Dopers, do this to your co-workers?
Could you get away with it in your place of work?
Would you take video and stick it on your website?
From the one picture I can see, it sounds a bit fun. I can see myself just trying it. However, it’s not entirely compatible with the cubicle mirrors that I just gave my co-workers, is it?
I make faces at my co-workers, and then stop making the face when they look in my direction. The joke is that I don’t stop making the face until they just see that I was making one. Then I deny making a face when I’m confronted – and do it again when they look away. One girl is convinced that I’m making faces behind her back, even when I’m not.
I’ve done it, and my coworkers have done it both behind me and in front of me. (I work in an office where, one day, the CFO was wandering about in a purple and white sarong, and a Joey Heatherton wig. Oh, and a white shirt tied as a middy top. This, on a 6’1" hairy-chested man, was something of a surprise.)
Thing is, in my office, no one would be concerned, unless someone from our Board of Trustees was there.
This is priceless. I just showed my mom, and I think she may try this at work today. Wish I could be there to see that!
This doesn’t need to be used at work, though! Think of the applications! On the subway, at restaurants, at the supermarket, in elevators… stealth Disco!!!
