Would you drink a beer that is a year old?

Bud Light. In a can.

They’ve been in my fridge since my fantasy football draft party last year. Not one of my favorite brands, but I want a beer and I’m kinda tired, and traffic and soforth. My girlfriend had one 3-4 months ago and said it tasted just as bad as a fresh Bud Light.

Imma do it.

Sure. I’ve drunk mystery homebrews that were old enough to drive. The worst that can happen is that it tastes bad.

Yes. As long as it wasn’t flat when you opened the can.

Refrigerated, and not in a bottle where light is an issue, a beer likely won’t be skunked. Worst case it is and you pitch it.

Whether Bud Light classifies as a beer is a different question.

I don’t understand. You have a beer, yet you’re proposing not to drink it?

That’s… It just… I don’t know where to begin.

Well, to be fair, he did say it was a bud lite.

No. Under no circumstances. Not if I was dying from thirst.

I unintentionally drank some two year old beers before , they tasted flat and nasty but I didn’t die or anything but it killed my desire to drink anything else that night as no fresh beer was available.

I would, and have. And will probably do so again. Bud light often shows up when we have parties and is the first to get leftover because it is ass. Which is why it will stay in the fridge for so long, because I’d rather buy not ass. But every now and then, I’m a bit lean on cash and/or motivation, or it is after 2 am, and the thirst goes unslaked…so…you know…I drink it. Don’t judge me. I didn’t ask to be this way. I blame society.

Kinda like going home with that chick in the bar at 2:15 when you can barely see your hand in front of your face. You might do it, but 48 hours later…ewwww.

I blame society too. So I drank the crappy Bud Light-for science. After a full year (and over 200 days past its best by date) it tastes the exact same. If anything more like regular Bud.

In the interest of full disclosure, i still ended up going out and drinking actual beer first (Bells Two Hearted-yes!!) so that probably helped the situation.

One of these days I’m gonna try one of those geriatric buds first thing in the morning though-for science

FOR SCIENCE! clink

However, having said all that for science. No amount of society can make me ever do the Lime-a-rrrrrita or straw-bbrrrr-ita left in my fridge after a party again…

…and by “no amount” I mean it would take a “very large amount” of societing…

no

Dear Og, You ARE John Oliver!!!

I love your show, but for the Love of Choreography, PLEASE OG, NEVER DANCE AGAIN…!

Ever tasted beer that was that old? Ick.

Not beer but here’s a video of people drinking old soda. And they were a lot older than a year.

Further confirmation that bud light isn’t beer…no discernible difference.

As long as there is some fizz left, it isn’t totally flat, sure. After all, how much could it be than fresh Bud Lite?

You remember the “dry” beer fad in the 90’s? Remember Coors Dry? For some reason, my friend still had a 24 pack (back when you could call them a suitcase because they were that shape) until last year. He had a party and out came the Coors Dry. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. Not good enough for us to put down all 24. I don’t believe there was any projectile vomiting or diarrhea.

I’ve enjoyed beers that were intentionally cellared for various lengths of time. I’ve had Dogfish Head 120 minute of several vintages and taste compared. I had Sam Adams Utopias that was 2 years old. Amazingly good beers.

Bud light tasted right off the assembly line would still be Bud light.
