My job is complicated and things are changing often but to me its all the same. I do many things but its all pretty much for the same company. It is very hard to explain but if you take it as fishy there is not much else that i can offer you. You do realize that alot can change in a month, companys close branches and move, then move back. Rehiring people first laid off is common practice for them. When you WAH things get even more foggy (there is no set scope of responsiblities at my level, it is what the boss wants done that day) but that doesn’t mean that I do not work at all, or am lying about employment or the conditions of my employment.
If my boss bought me a piece of crap '90 Carolla I would take a bullet for him, so if your story isn’t total crap, I don’t see how this is even a dilemma.
If you dig even deeper in these posts you might read about me having a successful ebay business on the side offering advise to someone about a case being opened against a buyer, can you imagine the implications of this?
Ok Ill just tell it how it is and i hope you all understand. I was hired by a company to go work for a manufacturer of a medical device in a fab shop. I was to learn everything i could to take over. The company would be shut down and the main purpose of it all would be realized. Company A will now own the brand that company B trained me to make. They now own the brand, and own the equipment, patents and have a employee that knows how to train and make these parts. Mission length was 2001-aprox 2008. Returned to work for company A, after breif layoff. Recieve severence from company B. Paycheck now coming from company A, but working for a completely different company and different industry C. Mission: Learn everything about the importation of company C. We will then take the dissolved brand, patents ect, that we now own and have Company C distribute them with our new found importation knowledge. Within 3-12 months Company C (the bitchy little pissers) will be dissolved and we will open company D. Company D will now be a powerhouse that owns the patents and machinery and retained all the layed off employees from company C. Company C will lay off everyone, and after breif unemployment will rehire to work form company D, but will remain working in company C drawing checks from D. This is what I have been a part of for some time. It is a publicly traded company so there is alot of politics that i am unaware of. It is a small industry and if I didn’t work for any of these companies our paths would still cross very very often. End game? Company A, sells B,C to return profits for shareholders. Very large payout to Miss boss in which will get handed to me, OWNING company D becoming my “Commission” Now Company D , in one building outputs B,C,D with the Employees from only B,C. Company A makes BUKU money. Everybody still has a job. Then all of a sudden Company A states were moving to Beverly Hills, everyone is worried and unemployed. 2 months later, they move back with Cali employees and merge into a bigger building and more product lines and patents owned. The Cali employees will show the FL employees how they do it, and then will go back to Cali to continue the job they believed that they were laid off from in the same building but with a different owner (same name). Severences to people who don’t come back, but they all do.
IT is a idiotic request THUS why I am here, not to talk about the details of my job duties and dates employed, but whether or not YOU would humor the boss lady on this.
It’s a stupid request and if they’re worrying about things like that at the outset of this venture then their priorities are all wrong for success. I’ve been on the ground floor of more than one business and no one was thinking about piddly crap like someone else’s vehicle.
You are much better off keeping an old Durango that gets poor mileage, is going to flip one day, and that is uncomfortable, rather than sell it for a reasonably priced car. It’s a no brainer.
C’mon, you can tell us the real story. You work at Taco Bell and your manager is jealous of your bitchin’ camaro, right?
I was going to suggest, “Nice, huh? I got a great deal 'cause the original owner committed suicide in it. I just have to keep the windows down in the summer to avoid the smell of death.”
You say it won’t affect any part of your arrangement if you say no. Are you 100% sure about this?
Leaffan bolded two phrases, one of which said you are always at work, the other of which said that you make more and work less than you did before. Putting aside the confusion you seem to have about working at home (it is not synonym for self-employment), can you reconcile always at work/working less?
