You know I didn’t really need any more additions to my “people I wanna punch in the coont” list, but where’s my damn pencil . . .
I would suffer horribly, but I am freaking poor, it wouldn’t be much of a choice. I’d either have to have the rich guy pay for delivered vegan food or teach me how to cook vegan and provide my groceries because I haven’t the faintest idea what all is involved with being vegan. I know there are different types.
Behind door number 3 is a big sign saying “READ THE OP.”
I’ll likely regret this: How much of a hijack would it be for you to list your educated reasons?
Well, honestly, I may be completely full of shit here. The rest of this post may sound like I’m channeling our dear departed Dio, but I at least started with this disclaimer and will not defend my viewpoint to the death like he did.
I think that when dealing with babies on basic issues like what to feed them, the question should always be “what’s best for my baby?” People shouldn’t look for ways to impose their lifestyle choices on their kids, even in situations where they think the kid will probably still be OK after the imposition.
So, to avoid the coontpunch, your friend would need to show me that being a vegan is the best thing for her kid (for actual medical reasons, not bullshit “reducing the suffering in the world” reasons). It wouldn’t be enough for her to show me that a vegan diet will probably be OK for the kid.
I’ll be seeing her next week. I’ll see if there’s any way all of her education can be summarized into a couple of paragraphs. (20 years worth) Maybe she has a couple of good websites up her sleeve that would help, and keep my post to a minimum! (All I know is her 15-month-old is HUGE and healthy and ahead of the curve on every point for his age.) I’m not really sure where to start aside from my own reasons for being vegetarian and feeling guilty for eating cheese… and that won’t answer your question! And we both think PETA is stupid - just so you know we’re not “fringe” crazy.
You’re right. I apologize for the flippant response - I’ve been more irritable than usual today.
It would be a serious mistake to underestimate how important that is.
If someone else is preparing the meals, it seems relatively easy to do. I expect I’ll be rather ill for a while, but yeah, I might give it a shot. Of course, my suspicious mind wants to know why.
I’m a poor student, for 100K, not only would I be willing to go vegan, I’d be willing to go raw fruitarian. (if it includes flax seeds and avocado)
The Meat must flow.
If you raise your bid to 250.000, I might stop the blood slough.
I almost never eat vegetarian, let alone vegan, and will hunt and kill my own meat til the day I die (hopefully). But I’d still sign up without a second thought.
Heh, I always thought the “Ramen” referred to the type of noodle, not the flavouring. My post was implying a flavourless noodle.
The “skilled chef” seals the deal for me, it might be a different matter if I had to prepare my own food.
Free chef? Free food? Free 100 kilodollars? No brainer.
(Wait, vegan food made by a good chef doesn’t suck, does it??)
I once went to a vegan restaurant in Beijing, it was made up to resemble meat dishes and it was almost, almost almost as good as the real thing
I’ll be happy to take 100G, but how could I ever be animal-protein free? That’s utter nonsense.
I would insist of being able to take B-12 and any other nutrient that cannot be found in a vegan diet. BTW, true vegans will not eat honey.
I’m a big meat eater so I am probably exactly the type of person this billionaire is looking for. I’d do it in a heartbeat. That money would pay off my house and put my kids through college. That’s a bit too life changing to refuse it. I’d suffer through quite a bit for $100k.
I’d probably go right back to eating meat when the year was up though.
With chef and meals supplied? Sure, I’d have a go at it.
Of course, I’d be even happier with more money…
Sure, no question I’d do it.
Could I have the equivalent of the chefs salary if I refuesed one?
I figure that if I didn’t have to work, I could easily research and make a proper vegan diet. Plus I would have some extra coin.
Step one go through all the cupboards and throw away anything with animal products, step two buy a bunch of cookbooks and vegan lifestyle books, step three profit!
