To be fair, I didn’t get that far in my inquiry with this "agency, but all the other agencies I contacted work only to place the nanny. They’re paid a one-time service charge (usually a percentage of the nanny’s annual salary), they set up the interviews, and they work to make a suitable match (often, they have a trial period, too).

But–once the nanny is hired, we pay them directly, usually at the end of each work week. Presumably, though, we could pay the Hispanic workers whatever we wanted…and in case you haven’t done the math, $900/month is atrocious wages for the hours and work involved.

You should have asked her if you could come down to their office to inspect the women personally- put your fingers in their mouths to make sure they had all their teeth, that kind of thing. :rolleyes:
