Wow, a picture of mine is on the Guardian Unlimited art blog!

As of this moment anyway. I have to leave but I did take screen shots.

A picture I submitted is their “Photo of the Day.” It’s my “egowall” where I put things that are signed by artists I love. Too bad my main ladies Kate Bush and Happy Rhodes aren’t in the picture. Our signed Kate stuff and a poster signed by Happy are just a few feet away.

Fun!

I have to leave now and won’t be back until this evening. I’m glad I checked my email!

Congrats! Nice pic too

I got home earlier than I thought. Thanks! I noticed that the picture was almost directly across from a blog by Shane McGowan about Kirsty MacColl (they did the song “Fairytale of New York” together) and when you click on the blog, the picture is still there (as of this moment anyway, I don’t know what time they’ll change it).

I have 2 flats signed by Kirsty up on my Egowall, which is probably why they used it. Someone recognized the pictures. My glee at having my picture used is now tempered by the rememberance of the late, great, Kirsty MacColl, one of the finest songwriters to come out of the UK (or anywhere, really). She was a sweetheart too, with a great sense of humor. I met her twice. The first time was when I interviewed her (after a show at the Park West in Chicago) for a radio show I used to do. The second time was after a Chicago show at the Double Door. She was a lot of fun.

RIP Kirsty. I miss her so much.

Congrats! Excellent photo.

I saw the picture! A wall of great singers… very nice idea.

Thanks Savannah and Evil Captor. The wall is actually covered with sheet metal, and all the posters are stuck to it with magnets, the kind that comes in strips with a sticky backing, for easy re-arranging. We don’t have a car and my husband brought home two 8 foot by 4 foot steel sheets - on the bus. He is so wonderful.

Here’s a picture of the wall before I really got going on it.

I submitted the picture because I thought it might make a good contest…guess all the artists, but I guess they thought it would go better with the Kirsty MacColl blog.

Very cool, Vickie. Of course, I was there for many of those signatures, so I’m biased . . .
