Wow, I missed my 10-year anniversary!
I lurked here for quite a while before I eventually signed up. I too really can’t overestimate what a positive influence the SDMB has had on my life.

I’m also a 03-05-2001 joiner. It’s amazing how long I’ve hung around here, although I also think of myself as more lurker-y than anything else. I mostly just drop facts or opinions here and there, and rarely get involved in conversations.
I’ve gone through periods where I was here multiple times a day, and times when I didn’t drop by for months, but I’ve always come back eventually.
Wait… who are you again?

I just passed 11 years. Crazy.
Yes you are.
My number is #36, with several years of the AOL board under my belt as well.
How do you tell what number you are?
A thread I started a few years ago that’s tangentially relevant. From 27.4% in '07, I’m up to 36.4% now. (Which is fucking crazy, but whatever.)
Go to your profile and look at the number at the end of the URL.
I missed my 10, but I’m pretty much a lurker more than anything.
sigh I’d have signed up sooner if I’d thought of a handle quicker!
I never thought about the member numbers…Amazing that there have been over 100,000 members (checked a few new members, who have numbers over 101,000).
I haven’t been a heavy poster in about 8 years, but I still visit daily.
I’m number 7101.
Currently 104,570 (it’s displayed at the bottom of the home page for the message board). ![]()
Just hold your mouse over your name and look at the status at the bottom of your browser.
I’m #46.
Been here a lonnnnng time. (It’s taking longer than we thought.)
There are going to have to be a LOT of people dying off before I inherit the crown.
I’m #11,630.
The shame will live with me forever.
10,463 for me. Well, I’m beating a lot of the NEW noobs (and Knorf
).
Hey! Today is my 75th month anniversary! (join date 12-08-2004 for those of you that are bad at math.) 0.23 post per day. . .what can I say-I’m a pudytat-we sleep a lot.
I still measure things to some degree by pre- and post- SDMB.
(My watersheds are 1977, 1990, 2001, and 2006.)
I am a bit bummed that my Charter Membership lapsed, but the renewal caught me off guard and at the time I took exception to the requirement to pay two years to regain it. “Hey, Boo! You’re overdue! Give us two, or nuts to you!” Would give three today without blinking, if I could get my Charter status back.
It has been a long time, hasn’t it? I should finally get around to paying up and becoming a Member again.
Double Word.
I’m number 157.
