Wow! Opera is awesome!

So, after hearing some good things about the Opera browser, I downloaded it today. Wow, this is way better than IE whatever version! Thanks to everyone here who’s recommended it.

I’m using ver. 7.23 and I have trouble with pages not fully loading the first time. Sometimes I have had to reload a page 4-5 times before it will complete.

If you’re in browser-trying mode, you might also like Mozilla (www.mozilla.org). Opera is also pretty nice, I agree.

“One of us … One of us … One of us …”

Welcome to the other side!

I love Opera also, but occasionally I run into a page that doesn’t display correctly in it. For those few occasions I switch to Netscape. But most of the time I am a happy Opera camper.

Woooo! Yeaaaah!! La Bohème rocks!! Le Roi d’Ys!!! Wooooo!!! Orfeo ed Euridice kicks ass!!!
Ok…ok…I heartily apologize. But really, it was just a matter of time before someone did it.

Yea! Another Opera user!

I have twenty-two windows open right now, with tidy little tabs.

(Ctrl+Alt+W) Hey, even tidier!

I love Opera. It’s just better.

If you think you’re loving it now, wmulax93, you just wait until the board gets flakey, and you get those polite little alert windows for timeouts, instead of a stupid HTML document that loses your post for ya. Civilized, that.

Larry, how do I get to where you are? Is there a link? A program I buy? What?

I barely know how to turn this contraption on, but I loooves opera…

Want to hear me do the mad scene from Lucia?

Have they removed that damned MDI interface? If yes, then maybe I’ll give it a second chance.

I switched from IE to Mozilla Firebird a few months ago; I’ve used Opera, but (a) I don’t like the ad window and (b) on my computer at least, SDMB pages displayed funny; the line at left between usernames and content was all raggedy, depending on the length of the username.

Granted, that was before the big redesign thing, so maybe it’s different now. But I’m pretty well hooked on Firebird.

I use both IE and Opera, the latter because the former got to be too slow when reading the SDMB.

The History feature blows IE’s history out of the water, and the Notes is a very useful function too. And the best part - if for some odd reason the browser up and dies (e.g. throws an exception) on restart it offers to restore itself to the autosaved URLs!

im a happy firefox user, even though its only version 0.8 i havent found any glitches and i agree with Larry Mudd little civilised boxes are much nicer than html “Error 404” pages.

Zoe, ya silly!

You know what else is cool? Having it start up with the Straight Dope front page and all the forums. (Or any number of other saved sessions, if you’re bent that way.)

I thumb my nose at those poor schmoes who have to content themselves with a plebian “Start Page.” What’s the use in that?

Am I the only one who opened this wondering what it was Oprah Winfrey had done to get wmulax93 so excited?

I need a nap.
