Just had two LDS elders knocking on my door. They seemed very nice (actually, I’ve never had a problem with these folks). When I explained that I am pagan, they started asking me very nice, non-judgemental questions about it. Of course, they still wanted to come in and share their message, but when I politely told them no thanks, they wished me good day, and left.
Hm. Kinda nice when I can’t call an attempt to witness bad. Hell, I don’t think I could even call that an interruption. :
That is so wonderful. I love when that happens! That kind of witnessing doesn’t bother me at all. How nice!
The mormon missionaries are pretty cool about leaving you alone once you let them know you’re not interested in hearing “the discussions”. They expect “every worthy young man” to devote 2 years of his life to “spreading the gospel”, send them to the missionary training center in Provo, Utah to learn a language, etc. in preperation for their mission and understand that everything their missionaries do reflects on their religion as a whole.
I’m glad to hear that they seemed non-judgemental towards a religion that is not patriarchal or monotheistic.
I misread the title as saying “Two nice young LSD guys …”
I’m kinda disappointed.
