It’s live! I haven’t seen any 71s yet, but by the time I get home with my CE in 6 hours or so, I expect to have a few in my guild.

I haven’t gotten it yet, since I’m still a newb. I have seen a few Deathknights around already. None in our guild yet, but that will probably change by the weekend. Lots of realm announcements for the first to hit Grandmaster in their professions.
My husband is picking our copies up today, but I’m actually going to wait until this weekend to go to Northrend, I think. Want to take my time and enjoy exploring. (I didn’t even get a character to 70 until last weekend.) I am very much looking forward to decreased activity in Outlands for a little while – maybe I’ll actually be able to get some dailies done.
I was on last night at midnight EST, and by 12:02 there were already a bunch of death knights running around.
UPS has my copy in their truck as I speak (write?). I’m hoping they don’t decide to wait until 6 tonight to deliver it…
The best buy across the freeway still has over 600 copies in stock, so I’ll be hopping over at lunch time to pick up a couple copies. Then I’m taking tomorrow off.
My outlook calendar lists me as being at an off-site meeting all day… location: Northrend.

I pre-ordered my CE a month ago from Walmart.com (who I still think has CE’s online). It’s going to arrive between the 21st and the 25th. WTF chuck:smack:
I got it last night - about 150 people in line at Best Buy. I shipped my main over to the Borean Tundra and parked him in the inn. Then I created a Death Knight and did the first couple of easy quests with him. I logged after that. I was impressed with Blizzard that I had zero issues installing, registering, logging in, and playing late last night. Unfortunately I’m going out of town this weekend so I won’t have much time to play. Hopefully any snafu’s get ironed out by Sunday night!
Picked it up last night at midnight, installing it right now. Unfortunately, won’t get to play it 'til tonight.

Amazon.com says my copy is on the UPS truck as we speak as well. Unfortunately, I’m primary on-call for our IT group this week, so I can’t take tomorrow off to explore as much as I’d like.
Oh well; from what I recall when Buring Crusade was released, Outland was so overrun with players that it was impossible to actually do any of the quests that were available. Still…
I knocked off a few Borean Tundra quests this morning. I love the look of the place, but my main has mostly raid and badge gear, so I haven’t gotten any new stuff yet. (Except a recipe to make Bad Clams!) I’m looking forward to finding out what the new factions will get us.
Help me figure out if this is worth picking up right now. I have a 70 Mage but during the zombie infestation I created a Paladin so that I could cleanse people and be both handy and dandy. It turned out that I really liked playing my Paladin. Thing is the Paladin is only level 40, but I do want to keep playing him for a while. So the question is: Is there any new content or anything interesting that I gain by installing?
I’m probably going to hold off a week or two getting the expansion - I want to get my blacksmithing up to par before I hit the new continent, and doing quests-for-gold will help more with buying the five million mithril bars than going up to level 72 or so would.
I don’t think so. The biggest changes (except for new zones to explore) are the additions of profession Grand Masters, which I believe have minimum level requirements but I can’t confirm that. FWIW: As I said earlier, I just got my first character to 70 last weekend. I was totally prepared to wait until later to get the expansion, but my husband picked up two Collector’s Editions this morning. I’m going to install the expansion, get my fancy pet and matching Achievement, probably go to one of the new cities to train in my professions …
… and then go back to Outlands for a while and continue questing. I like the exploration part of the game, I’m in no big hurry, and frankly, I will cherish the relative dearth of 12-year-old dorks spamming the chat channels in Shattrath with their [anal] and [murloc] and [Chuck Norris] jokes. (That these “jokes” are unfunny goes without saying, I presume.)
(Yes, I did those colors on purpose, because I am a dork myself. But I am not 12. Any more.)

My husband is picking up two copies of WotLK for us after work tonight. I was online before work this morning, grinding my recently-70 hunter’s Shattered Sun rep to Revered. Man, I don’t remember seeing Quel’Danas that deserted before.
None of my fellow guildies were on. Normally we have a small early-am crew, so I assume they all went out at midnight to get the game, and had already installed, powergamed as much as they could, and were sleeping. I didn’t even think of checking the guild roster for any DKs.
I’m gonna check our local Best Buy to see if copies are left. I just got my Ret. Pally to 60, and I was doing about a dozen quests in Hellfire Penn since 58, but like Tom Scud, I’m jonesing for Mitril to bolster my BS skills. So, I’m back on a massive mithril campaign.
We got our CE boxes on Tuesday =D. I’m about to leave the office and actually get to play some =).
I love the stupid chat memes. Easy to get rid of when they’re annoying me, and endlessly amusing when I’ve had enough raid juice. (I blame booze more than age for the stupid comments, I’ve seen people 12 years past 30 contribute anal murloc jokes. The 12 year olds just spam the same joke 100 times in a row).
I don’t play (yet), but I gotta say that the Art of book that came with my SiL’s collector’s edition has some fabulous artwork.
Pre-ordered from Amazon and it was waiting for me when I got home. It’s more for my son than for me. I have that disease, nuetunitis, which makes it impossible for me to stay with one character for more than about 3 days playing time. Plus, I don’t party. The highest level I’ve gotten is 57.
So there’s no new content for under level 70? That sucks.
