"Wringing out a washcloth in space"

Watch what happens when you wring out a washcloth in space.

Cool video, but like that first commenter, I too wonder about all of those water drops floating around amongst all of that equipment and wires.

Cool. Cmdr Hadfield is fast becoming one of my favourite people. His Twitter feed and moustache are awesome.

I love him. His Twitter exchange with Shatner, Nimoy, Wil Wheaton, and Buzz Aldrin was just epic.

I’m comfortable with that guy making the decision on if it is safe or not.

Everything is probably watertight and they don’t have frayed wires around. They replace them.

The only thing worse than getting water all over the equipment would be to get ants all over.

One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here, and I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

Also, remember these photos he took from the ISS several years ago.

Follow his Facebook feed for daily pictures. A recent one of Berlin at night showed the West/East division still made plain… by the hue of the streetlights each part of the city had installed then and still used.

It didn’t really look like there were a lot of droplets. Rather the water seemed to just come out in a big blob.

That is absolutely not what I thought was going to happen. Not by a long shot. I thought it was just sort of going to spray all over the place. I wonder if it would have if he had wrung it out a bit more violently. Like you normally would.

I expect since the Apollo Fire, they’re really careful about electrical insulation.

I wasn’t expecting that to happen either.
