For how long will we continue to refer to the “alleged terrorist attacks” on the World Trade Centre and the Pentegon as “the Terrible Events of September 11th”?
It seems to me that this is a fairly complicated and convoluted way of refering to these events, and will not survuive the trip into the annals of history. We now refer to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour simply as “Pearl Harbour” and the Allied landings in Normandy as “D-Day”, nice punchy, emotive names! How long until we are able to re-name these recent events, and when we do, what will we call them?
Thoughts/Suggestions?
