No, nothing was “proven.” You showed that Martin was a [real] liberal, and you showed that Martin was corrupt. That does NOT prove liberals are corrupt, nor does it prove liberals are NOT corrupt. It says nothing about liberals, or conservatives for that matter.
What good would it do us if I showed that the Conservative Part of North Korea rapes little boys? Can we draw any conclusions about the number of little boys raped by Republicans?

Sure it does. The Prime Minister of Canada was Paul Martin. If the other members in the Liberal Party thought what he did was wrong, they had many options. It isn’t like impeaching a President down in the States. In Canada, they can kick out the party leader relatively easily in comparison. Didn’t see that happen. Didn’t see it likely to happen. Frankly, I didn’t hear too many objections on the liberal side to the thing when it occurred.
I used the example of Canada because that is where I live and know the politics better than in the US. IIRC, someone accused me of being corrupt and as such as being a reflection of how conservatives think. I’m a conservative in Canada, which is the left of conservatives in America. Liberals in Canada are even further left. If they are willing to do what is needed to get what they want (in this case to a purely selfish reason to retain power temporarily). My argument is that corruption isn’t limited to conservatives. As you seem to be agreeing with in an argumentative fashion.
Funny, you seemed to start this whole tangent with the supposition that the Democrats are losers because there were not corrupt enough. That they should have tried to give a senator some cash in order to change his vote.
I guess your logic is that “everyone does it”, even the liberal party of Canada, so the Democrats were stupid for not being corrupt too.
Well yeah, in the sense that the political discourse of the right is dominated by Beavis-and-Butthead types who think saying “Liberals are stupid people who think Obama is the Messiah even though he doesn’t have a birth certificate” is an actual argument, while the intelligent ones are either happy to let the “useful idiots” loose as long as their agenda is furthered or else are too frustrated/disgusted/apathetic to do much about it.
