Under normal circumstances I’d cheerfully agree with you except the attitude expressed isn’t “don’t be a jerk”, it’s “don’t piss me off!” and that makes me uneasy, since it suggests a short-tempered admin who will lash out arbitrarily. In fact, my just calling him “short-tempered” might get me banned, if he’s in the mood to do so.
In fact, my suggestion that he’s moody might be enough. What is the threshold? I have no way to tell.

I never said that Otto’s post was a personal attack. I never attempted to say that banning Otto for what he did was justified or unjustified. I asked folks to consider the bigger picture.
You know, if this banning is indicative of anything more than a bad day (a VERY bad) of Ed’s, there’s a whole lot of us who are going to have to find something else to do with our time real soon.
I think there are about 17 posters in this thread who have virtually asked for a banning by blasting Ed on his own website, and far more savagely than **Otto **did. If they’re not banned (and soon), Ed is admitting that he had a hissy-fit. And if they are banned for whining, threatening to leave, incivility, holding one’s pinky in the air whilst drinking tea insufficiently high, bad attitude, or general mopery, that’s the sound of Pandora’s Box opening that you hear.
