WTF, pepperlandgirl?

Huh. Don’t see too many flameouts like that round here no more.

I really find it hilarious that this is happening over a freaking nobody-cares-even-the-people-posting-to-it Star Wars thread.

I didn’t even get mentioned! To add insult to injury, she evidently tried to reply to me in the original thread, but thought someone else was me.:frowning:

Which again brings up the question: Why open the thread, if you knew what was in it, who was in it, and you’ve seen it all before?

The obvious answer, of course, is that she needed to squeeze one out and couldn’t wait for a rest stop.

I don’t know for sure about the other people posting in the thread, but I’ve never posted here about Star Wars before, I presume the OP never had, and I expect there are at least a few others. I’m sure this is an unimportant minor detail in the pepperlandgirl drama.

I’m sorry that she missed out on her chance to holler POOPY in the Pit and get a hand for it. That’s too bad. If she had posted her crybaby bullshit back then, and I was around to comment, I’d’ve given it a two. Needs more funny. Sounds like something a naughty Mormon from Hicksville might’ve… oh. Nevermind, then.

Anyway, I don’t care that she’s burnt out. She was replying solely to voices in her own head, answering questions nobody asked, railing against people that weren’t there. Pretty obvious to me that she was threadshitting now, and damn proud of it. Maybe it’s not against the rules to blindly stumble into a thread to spew your worthless opinion about the title-- not even the OP, mind, but the bloody title-- but it doesn’t mean it’s not annoying and stupid. Self-involved, much?

Yeah, we hear that a lot.

When I leave, no one will even notice.

Hell, they don’t notice I’m here …

And you are? And I would know you from?

I have an appointment.

I heartily endorse this sentiment. Thanks, PLG. Good to see you again.

Eh. I too hate Star Wars — even the beloved Empire Strikes Back, which took me a few tries to get through without falling asleep — but even I can see that pepperlandgirl bitchily violated the tenor of that thread. If failure to enjoy bitchiness is something that scares her away from a community I suppose that’s too bad.

Not to mention the “I didn’t even read this thread because lolz, you fanboys are all fellating Lucas so I’m going to shit all over here” attitude when, hell, a lot of posters in that thread seriously hated anywhere from one to four of the six films, but I guess it takes a real act of courage to speak out against George Lucas or something. (I like Star Wars and Empire, myself.) I guess it takes a Pit thread with your name on it to bother reading, sometimes.

If pepperlandgirl returns, I feel I should point out that George Lucas directed neither Empire Strikes Back nor Return Of The Jedi. One should take into consideration when reading her rant that, despite watching these films several times, she doesn’t know the most basic facts about them.

However, the prequels do indeed suck an almost inconceivable quantity of arse.

I wonder if she likes Firefly?

slow clap Best mod call ever.

Thank you for the clarification.

Regards,
Shodan

Had to cut out 2,212 words of pointless whine. Sounds like someone made you sit through the films and you resented it, so you ran to a SW thread to rain on everyone’s parade in order to feel better about your private issues (might just be simpler to tell your friends/family: “no more Star Wars please”).

Even Star Wars fans have serious problems with George Lucas. They’ll be the first to suggest that the best movie in the franchise (Empire) is also the one on which Lucas had the least input. And Ewoks? Horrible. Just horrible and inexcusable. Repulsive, really.

Lucas has gotten a LOT wrong, and hasn’t improved with age. But to accuse him of being a fucking hack and unoriginal is completely ridiculous. Think of the vision required to create something like Star Wars where previously there was nothing like it. With the first SW movie Lucas basically dragged space opera and science fiction into the modern age. Technically, his earlier works were marvelous and he pioneered and innovated like Kubrick did in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Not just as a visual virtuoso, but also on everything from realistic props to audio (e.g., taking an elephant’s call and engineering it into one of the distinctive SW high tech sound samples).

Your rant changed about as many minds as your post in the Cafe Society thread…

They’re good roasted.

I just wanna know how come Shagnasty gets called a horrible creepy misogynist, while msmith357 gets wished “money and pussy.” You’re falling down on the misogyny front smith! we expect to see better production going forward.

I think I might spend a lot more time hanging around The Pit if there were more hilariously awesome rants like pepperlandgirl’s. That was epic and I wholeheartedly approve of the enthusiasm of that post.

That was awesome!

You guys are making me think that I should actually read her rant (I’m guessing the short version is - “Screw you guys; I’m going home.”).
