WTF... Safari Update screws up my web based e-mail

I got the latest Safari update today for my MacBook Pro, and now I can’t use one of my e-mail accounts. I have Network Solutions e-mail for one of my needs, and after doing the update I can no longer:

  1. Use the HTML editor. Only the Test editor. This sucks, because the latter is a lot more limiting.

  2. Even worse, I can’t attach files! I can choose the file, but when I hit “attach”, nothing happens.

Any idea what’s going on here? If necessary, I’d like to restore the old version of Safari.

I’d delete the cookies for that websites, and empty the cache while you’re at it.

Which website? Apple.com or Network Solutions?

BTW, it’s worse than I thought. It’s not just that I can’t add attachments, trying to do so freezes Safari, and I have to restart it, losing any text I had typed in for the message.

This sucks.

I’m not understanding what apple.com has to do with your problem … I meant the site of your web email provider.

If that doesn’t help, I’d do “Empty Cache” also.

Why would you want to use web-based mail rather than the Mail app?

Why would you want to use a mail app rather than webmail? Seriously, what do mail apps give you that webmail doesn’t? And does it really make up for the fact that you can use your webmail on any computer with no configuration?

I personally have never found a mail app that gives a superior experience to any webmail.

Looks like you’ve never upgraded your browser and had webmail conk out. Like the OP.

It’s complicated.

No, really it is. I wish I didn’t have to, but it’s not my choice in this particular case.
