WWII Japanese-American Internment documents wanted.

I have a friend who is writing a book on WWII. She would like to find some original documentation from the Japanese-American internment camps. Here is her request:

I am looking for any original documentation or paperwork that would have been given by the U.S. government to a Japanese-American person or family who were being held in internment camps in the United States after the attack on Pearl Harbor. I am writing a book on Pearl Harbor, geared for a younger audience. In my research, I have been unable to locate any original, authentic, personal internment documentation to use as an image in the book. I am happy to offer a name credit and a copy of the book in appreciation for the use of such precious paperwork.

I don’t have any such documents, but I can’t resist the chance to mention George Takei… He’s involved with the production of *Allegiance: A New American Musical *which deals with the Japanese-American internment. There’s a list of resources and contacts on the show’s website. I hope something there helps your friend!

The Japanese American National Museum will be a good resource for her. They have a huge archive of things relating to the internments.
