x-men:whos still kicking?

right, disregarding the films, in the comics, whos dead and whos alive?
i havent read the comics in years, and i seem to remember both colossus and nightcrawler karking it a long time ago.

heroes and villains both count, we have a real need to know

Colossus and Psylocke are both dead. I think Illyana “Magik” Rasputin was recently brought back from the dead.

Colossus: Dead

Nightcrawler: Alive

They recently killed off the Emma Frost/The White Queen, but Beast is doing something fancy to help bring her back, so I doubt she’ll be deat long.

Gambit and Rogue are still alive, but I believe they’ve both lost their powers.

Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, Xorn (new guy from about a year ago), Beast and White Queen are all the key members of The New X-Men

Angel (who’s apparently completely over the whole Archangel thing [stupid rassmfrassmcharacterretconsbypeoplewhojustdon’tunderstand]), Nightcrawler, Iceman, Chamber are all focuses in Uncanny X-Men, and I believe some of the Generation X crowd have been showing up, but I don’t know if they’re actual team members yet.

In that team, I believe Synch died, but I don’t know how. And I’m not sure what happened to M and the Penance (?), but I think they’re both dead as well (dispite M’s invincibility).

Honestly, I don’t really keep track, I just glance threw them now and again, but that’s what I can remember. Collosus was the last big death (but I’m sure they’ll bring him back somehow soon).

“deat” = “dead”

“Collosus” = “Colossus”

Oi. Also, as for villains, it seems they finally killed off Magneto ONCE AGAIN, but the exact cause seems lost on me. In one Uncanny Story, it ended with Wolverine skewering him, and in New X-Men, it ended with a giant sentinel destroying Genosha, and a wheelchair ridden Magneto with it. His essence later spoke to the people of Genosha, so he should be completely dead, but you know how comic books get.

Other than that, in a storyline from a few years back, they killed off Apocolypse, but again, how long can that last (at least with him, it makes a bit of sense).

M and Penance are not dead, unless I’ve missed something, but I doubt it. Synch is (bomb planted by racist and anti-mutant kids), and so is Skin (recently killed by the church of humanity). No one else from the Gen X team is dead. (Unless you count Blink, I suppose, who’s dead, but alive in the Exiles as an alternate universe version.)

Magik came back in Exiles as well, but again as an alternate universe version.

“Don’t you people ever die?”

It’s probably easier to mention X-men who have been dead at some point rather than X-Men that are currently dead, seeing as how we’d need something like a stock ticker to keep track of the latter.

I was going to mention Multiple Man dying of the Legacy Virus (and complications due to We Can’t Possibly Give Your Power A Believable Scientific Explanation Syndrome) but it seems he kept a spare of himself and is still out and about.

Well, don’t keep us in the dark!

The real question the whole world* is dying to know the answer to is, is Havok still alive? And has he blasted anything lately?

*) If you define “the whole world” to be “me.” What with Havok being my favorite X-Men character and all.

Yes, Havok is recently back from some kinda alternate universe thingy. Or something.

Anyway, he’s back in Uncanny.

Woo hoo! What’s Havok’s costume look like this time around?

Back when he had those concentric circle doo-dads, his power always looked to me like the force field in the old Phoenix video arcade game.

I don’t care about all these bit-rate characters; just tell me what Strong Guy is up to these days, and the rest can go hang.

How did Colossus die?

Colossus died after injecting himself with a Legacy virus vaccine. In the process, a “cure” for Legacy was spread throughout the world.

Colossus, however, ends up as a jar of ashes buried in Siberia. Dang

And I believe about 20% of X-Statix is dead at any given time.

I missed Havok coming back. What exactly happened there?

now i come to think of it, did wolverine ever get his admantium skellington back? last i read of it, in wolverine unleashed, cables son was trying to put it back in to make him a new horseman of the apocalypse, logan rejected it through will power, went feral, killed him and his mates and ended up with electra. shes dead as well isnt she?
is cannonball still an x-man?

Let’s see what I can remember.

Havok was blowed up real good while attempting to difuse a bomb on a time machine. His mind ended up in one of these freaky X-Men alternate realities. His adventures here were in his own series “Mutant X”.

As the series was cancelled, Havok’s mind was pulled out of the "Mutant X’ universe when he used the Nexux of All Realities to erase Maddie Pryor from existance.

Then his body turned up in a coma in some hospital. His nurse, Annie, who had fallen in love with him, found out that this was Alex Summers. SHe contacted the X-Men who came to get him. Prof. X, with the help of Annie’s mutant son, went all psychic and put Alex’s mind back in his body.

Then Polaris shows up acting all weird and decides that their gonna get married in three issues or so, but I think that all went to hell.

I’ve only been reading Uncanny on and off, so if he’s been in his costume since his return, I’ve missed it.

Yes, Wolverine does have his adamantium skeleton back. I have no idea how.

I heard that Apocalypse gave Wolverine his adamantium back as part of an attempt to turn Wolverine into the Horesman of Death.

Yeah. Something like that, but I don’t know how that happened either since Apocky died in the X-Cutioner’s song storyarc …
[reeling … passes out]

Ugh…Apocolypse…how the mighty have fallen…

Okay, in the storyline where Cable’s Kid was trying to reinfuse Wolverine with adamantium, they bring up the fact that they were also putting together this big ceremony to ressurrect Apocolypse. Apparently, he’s so powerful that his essence never truly dies, and he’s able to possess others and be reborn. The exact procedure is something still under debate, but needless to say, after Wolverine split, Cannonball looked around and found A’s sarcophogus empty.

He came back to life, was seen briefly in the Onslaught storyline, and then came back again in the X-Books for a completely stupid piece of shit contrived plot where, for some reason, his current body wasn’t working out, so he was going to go threw some other funky ceremony involving an undeveloped comment made back in the 80s about “The Twelve” and take over Nathan Gray (X-Man). Why? Who knows. Terrible character re-write (they tried to say that his big purple massive bulk of a form is a COSTUME?!?!?!?! That’s the dumbest thing to hit X-Men comics since Wolverine’s bone claws, but I won’t get into that). Anyway, he ended up possessing Cyclops instead, and somehow, out of the however many people he’s possessed in the past and taken over with no problems, Cyclops is able to fight him. Jean and Cable track Cyc down, do some mental mumbo jumbo, separate the two, Cable stabs A with his psymitar, or whatever it’s called, and supposedly kills him for good.

Lame, lame, lame. Anyway, plotwise back before all that crap with “The Twelve” happened, Apocolypse managed to get riegn over a bunch of Skrulls who’s homeworld was destroyed by Galactis. As the X-Men were returning from some mission, the Skrulls knocked everyone unconscious, replaced Wolverine with a duplicate, and took him to Apocolypse. A told Wolvie he wanted him to be his new Death, and would give him his adamantium back; if he refused, A would instead use the currently adamantium endowed Sabertooth (yeah, I don’t understand either) as Death. Wolverine figured he’d be able to fight A’s brainwashing and would therefore kill less people than a hopped up, even more genetically advanced Sabertooth (who probably wouldn’t even need brainwashing), so he kicked Sabertooth’s ass, agreed to go threw with it, at which point Apoc removed the adamantium from Sabertooth, implanted it in Wolverine, brainwashed him, dressed him up in some Arabian garb, and sent him on his way with a big scymitar and the new tittle of Death.

Somehow, Wolverine got better.

I may have a few things wrong, to be honest, I haven’t really read any X-Books in the past five years or so (aside from Ultimate).

What, he was turned into a newt, too?
