Xema and Crafter Man, you sick fucks

All medication is a luxury. Go to the third world and you’ll find this out real quick.

I ask again… am I cruel when I kill mice? Am I cruel when I kill rats? Am I cruel when I go bow hunting? Am I cruel when I shoot roving dogs who happen onto our property? Are meat processing plants cruel to pigs?

Unlike many other folks who frequent this board, I live a rather rugged lifestyle. I do not sit in front of a computer all day (e.g. guin). I hunt. I trap. I shoot guns. I camp. I do not enjoy killing animals, but it’s something that sometimes needs to be done.

Well, you didn’t say that. In your original post it sounded like you’d just watch it bleed to death for hours without firing a follow-up shot.

And to most people, dogs and cats aren’t the same as other animals. Most people in this society (even the rugged parts of it) see them as pets, and since you live in this society you’re obligated to see them as pets as well. Like I said, even if you don’t care about the animals you should care about the well-being of your neighbors, and many of your neighbors care about their dogs and cats. Sure, there are people with pet pigs and mice, but they are not exclusively companion animals, as dogs and cats are.

So you truly need the meat from the animals you hunt?

I think anyone who gets enjoyment out of watching an animal die is sick.

Sorry, but I am not obligated to mold my opinions so they fall within the middle of the bell curve. My opinions are my opinions, and I care not what others think. So while I completely understand that cats are often kept as pets, a stray cat or dog on my property is simply an animal.

You wouldn’t mind testing out whether or not what you did was illegal, and reporting it to your local ASPCA would you? I mean, if you’re sure you’re not out commiting felonies, you should have no problem asking your local ASPCA/police about it, right? And if you are commiting felonies, it’d be in society’s best interest for you to stop, right?

Horse shit. A necessity doesn’t become a luxury just because you don’t have the money to pay for it. By this logic, food is a luxury because people in the third world have died of starvation because they couldn’t afford it.

Oh please, don’t try to pretend you give a fuck about animals now. If you did you wouldn’t be drowning them for having the temerity to walk on your fucking lawn.

To answer your idiotic question: Yes - killing is by definition cruel. Sometimes it’s justified (for survival or safety). I’m sure most non-psychopathic people would agree drowning animals because you’re too fucking lazy to deal with them properly isn’t.

Oh, he said that too. He also said oxygen was a luxury (in that same thread).

Again-fucking psychopathic moron.

I haven’t read the other threads being referenced here, but I haven’t seen anything in this thread or Xema’s original thread that indicates that Crafter_Man is, as has been said so many times here, a sick fuck. He does not enjoy killing animals; he does not enjoy drowning cats. As far as I can tell, he doesn’t go to other people’s houses and take their animals and kill them - aside from hunting, he limits his animal-killing to animals that come onto his property, which their owners should be preventing. He obviously isn’t someone who thinks all animals are cute and fuzzy and should be protected beyond all reason; some of you are sounding awfully intolerant of a different perspective than your own.

And for the record, farmers often do drown litters of kittens. Or they might just bash their heads in for a quick, painless death. Would I do this? No. Do I condemn them for it? No. Their way of life is different than mine.

Ah, there you have it, then. He’s clearly an extraterrestrial.

Oh, well then, as long as it wanders onto his property he can kill it in a cruel and inhumane manner. :dubious:

I mean, if it’s a pet that got loose by accident, this sick fuck should drown it. And if it’s a pet that the owners let roam free, why, he should kill it! It’s just too damn hard to put up ‘lost cat’ posters, and, besides, if it’s on his property… (Squeel like a pig, boy.)

And hell, if he’s trapped it, it’s just such a burden to pick up the phone and call animal control. I mean, it’s so much easier to load the cat up and take it somewhere else to kill it in a slow and terrifying manner for the animal.

I’ve not seen anybody object to the fact that he doesn’t like cats, but that he’s killing them in a manner which is probably a felony!. You don’t have to think that cats are cute and furry pets, but you DO have to refrain from killing them in a slow, painful, terrifying manner!

Complete horseshit. People keep rats, but I have no qualms about getting rid of a nuisance rat.

He was trapping and killing cats in the suburbs for walking on his shitty lawn. Not enjoying it my ass.

Would you buy yourself a fucking dictionary, you loon?

Once could be a mistake. But you keep repeating this assertion which means, plainly, that you are a complete fucking loon as well as being a sick fuck and dumber than a box of hair.

Wow, an HPL story that I had missed somehow. Thanks for the link.

You’re right, featherlou, I do not enjoy killing animals. I think anyone who does needs their head examined.

You’ve pointed out a couple things that are very interesting. One is the intolerance from those who claim to be tolerant. The other is the fact that lots of farmers and country folk dispose of nuisance cats using their own means. I can only assume most of the posters in this thread would call these farmers “sick fucks.”

Rats aren’t exclusively a pet animal, nor can they be completely domesticated.

And again I must ask: why drowning? Why not a painless shot to the head? Why not a call to animal control? Why do you choose what may be the most drawn-out and cruel death for any kind of creature? And why, if it’s too much trouble for you to go to the shelter, did you drive them over to your uncle’s house to drown them?

continuity eror You are mistaking**+MDI** for Crafter_Man.

Guin, someone appears to be using your computer to make you look bad: You asserted that

and when I ask for the post in which I did this, what appears under your name is something taken from my OP - not after anyone’s post.

You further asserted that

and when I ask for the post in which I did this, what appears under your name is a post in which I report the result of contact with animal control.

You need to look into this. If these were the best support for your initiation of this thread, a dispassionate observer might conclude that you were quite irresponsible, pitting someone based on a throroughly false premise. I think we can all agree that when evidence appears to make a respected and experienced member of the SDMB like yourself look like an irresponsible fool, that evidence must be wrong. So I think that we both need to go back and find the posts that caused me to deserve this pitting, in full confidence that they must surely be there, somewhere.

No, I just neglected to address Crafter_Man in the second part of the post. I’m sure he knows it was directed at him.
