XP Pro Multiple Monitors w/ UltraMon question: Modifying which monitor apps start on

The placated state of Expensivonne, Goddess of Windows Computing, after I figured out how to put RealPlayer in its place, was short-lived. She is once again greatly angered by the fact that some programs–most devilishly Logitech SetPoint, the program I use to control my wild beast of a feeping-creatured do-everything keyboard–refuse to remember which monitor they were sent to, and when started up again will do so once more in Monitor 1 – the smaller and overall Less Awesome laptop monitor.

As I understand it, Windows proggies are supposed to remember all by their lonely selves which monitor they were moved to, and start there. Some don’t, though, and I’d like to know if:

  • I can use the Almighty Power of UltraMon* to force these apps to learn their place (ie, start on the monitor they were last closed on)
    or

  • I can use same Almighty Power to force all apps to start on the monitor I have my cursor in. I found out I can do this in the Properties for each program, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to go set that option in every damn program on my computer.

  • To readers of my other thread on multiple monitors: I found out that HydraVision is a lot of sound and fury, and not much multiple-monitor-controlling goodness.

Powerstrip is an excellent free utility that commands everything you need with displays including these options.

Gracias, amigo.

In your advanced video settings the default program start monitor is probably set to start all program in default monitor or monitor 1 and the settings need to be changed.
