That’s interesting. Especially since illicit drugs also accidently yielded a toxin which INDUCES Parkinsonism, which was of great use to researchers. The toxin is MPTP and they discovered it when Parkinson’s was induced in a group of heroin addicts who had shot the stuff up. It came about because somebody botched an attempt to make synthetic heroin, and it wound up contaminated with MPTP.
