Yay! Good news! The polar caps are melting!!!

Well, on Mars anyhow! http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20011206/sc/snows_of_mars.html

Who knows? In several hundred/thousand years its possible there might even be liquid water on the surface… all without pesky human intervention.

Who’da thunk it?

Viva the Greenhouse effect!

what? huh?

oh, phew.

you dont want to THINK about what sort of vitriol i was building up before i noticed that the article was about mars and not earth.

whoops.

oh, yeah. that looks like something great. i can’t wait for earth’s next ecological era; there might even be liquid water on mars by then!

That reminds me of this special I was watching on TLC or Discovery the other day about the Snowball Earth Theory.

It was pretty interesting, it talked about how 600 million years ago the entire earth, including equator, was covered with ice in a huge ice age, and how CO[sub]2[/sub] from volcanoes and such over millions of years caused enough global warming to break the earth free from it, because otherwise most all solar heat would have been radiated back into space by the ice.

It was interesting, and made perfect sense. The thoughts of a snow covered earth is quite odd.
