Is this normal? I’ve been having damn-near blinding headaches since I had my wisdom teeth removed on March 30th. I was told to take Ibuprofen and they would eventually go away on their own.
Here it is, 2 weeks later, and I’m dying. When do the headaches usually stop?
Also, I’ve still got a really awful taste in my mouth. I’m scheduled to see my oral surgeon again tomorrow, just for a checkup. Does this sound like the sign of a possible infection?
Any dentists in the house?
Oh man, that sucks! Depending on how messed up your mouth is/was, removing the wisdom teeth could have changed the stress dynamics in your skull. Now things (sinus, teeth, muscles, skull) are adapting to the change, and that is causing the pain.
That, of course, is all speculation on my part since I don’t know if what age you are, how hard the extraction was, and what other complications may have occured.
Dry socket is a common occurance, but the pain is usually localized to the extraction site.
Sinus hole occurs when an upper tooth grew into the sinus, and now there is a hole between the sinus and your mouth. This happened to me, but in my case it wasn’t painful.
A nerve could have been damaged, but that usally lead to numbness and not headaches.
Let me/us know what the doctor says.
