Yeah, I guess it's been a while since we've done this... (Tuba being an ass)

Again.

By insulting the customers unnecessarily.

Again.

At least they’re eliminating pay to post so we don’t have to contribute to her paycheck any longer.

She broke a link that was apparently irritating, and hard to close. And pointed out that putting up such links is obnoxious. That’s hardly “being an ass.”

That was pretty tame, come on. I didn’t see the link Ponder Stibbons posted, but I’ll assume it was some kind of Rickroll and Tuba’s response doesn’t seem too out of line. Since when does everyone have such thin skins on the internet? Jeez.

C’mon, it’s pretty hilarious that she violates the rules of the board in the process of formally warning someone not to violate the rules of the board.

For those of us who are clueless, what’s a rickroll? (A description will suffice; I assume I don’t want a demonstration.)

Posting a link to the Rick Astley song “Never Gonna Give You Up” but changing the link text to something misleading.

I still laugh at it every time.

You post a link supposedly to one thing, and it leads to a Rick Astley video. This is supposed to be funny, somehow.

It’s the absurdity of it. And the fact that it’s a running joke that occurs on forums across the entire internet. It’s like when the Spanish Inquisition busts in–come on, you’re telling me that’s not funny when it happens for the 3rd time?

Okay, so the Rickroll has probably occurred several million times by now, but still.

Now a Rickroll that turns into the Spanish Inquisition, that would be unexpected.

Yes, because it was funny the first time too. Rickrolling was never funny. It’s obnoxious, and dishonest.

If that was all she’d done, you’d be right and this thread wouldn’t be here. You’re avoiding the part where she insults another user outside the pit, which, IIRC, is against the rules.

And FWIW, I think Rickrolling is dumb as well, and the link probably should have been broken and if it was egregious enough, the user warned (I didn’t see the link). I just don’t see a need for an admin to violate board rules while doing that.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this point.

Did Tuba ninja-edit her post? I don’t see the quote Kendall Jackson posted in that thread.

And, considering this post earlier in the thread, yeah, I think she was a mite bit hypocritical.

(Note - that’s a real link!)

And for the same word, too (and Hostile Dialect wasn’t even CALLING someone an ass). I’d missed that. That’s…um…really, really dumb.

It’s apparently ok to CALL someone an ass in ATMB, you just can’t mention their actual ass? Interesting.

It was a link to internetisseriousbuisness.com - rickrolling with a vengeance. Resizes your window and gives you a brazillion popups with the lyrics.

And yes - tuba was being an idiot.

No, it’s still there as posted originally:

I’m an idiot, thanks.

[Kung Pow]That’s a lot of popups!

If that’s what the link was, I’m all for calling down hellfire on the link poster. It’s an asinine thing to post.
